Well, that didn’t last long. The Red Roof Inn Visa card that was launched earlier this year is being discontinued. Existing cardholders can continue to use their card until February 28th, 2017. Points will remain in your account until they are used. It’s also no longer possible to apply for the card.
Most people were only interested in this card due to the fact it’s issued by Comenity Bank and the shopping cart trick could be used.
@William Charles, thanks for posting this. I have this card and I have not received notification yet that this card is being discontinued but I believe it. Comenity will send an email if they are discontinuing a card. I just haven’t gotten my email yet I guess. Anyway, they are discontinuing more than this Red Roof Inn Visa card. I will post about it at your other thread entitled “Shopping Cart Trick 2016” and also post about the Bed, Bath and Beyond Mastercard. The reason that i’m posting on the shopping cart trick thread is because Comenity is discontinuing some other shopping cart trick cards…
Hi Aja,
Didn’t see your post on the SCT yet? Let me know what other cards are being discontinued, thanks!
And I was just going to start churning this card for the sweet Red Roof Inn points…
I have this card, are they gonna Switch current card holders to other products or just close the account completely? Any idea?
No idea, sorry!
DOC,
I am impressed with your vast and wide nets your team casts to find these details. Your blog knows no bounds in preparation for posts.
Might I ask, how do you guys find out these details?
We try to keep that to ourselves so others can’t copy. A lot of it is just automated change alerts though. But vast majority is just readers letting us know about it, often they don’t want to be credited.
