The Fine Print

  • Limit of two offers per customer (per deal)

Our Verdict

You’ll want to use a credit card that earns at a high rate on drugstore purchases, keep in mind the Chase Freedom is currently earning 5x points on these purchases. Some stores are cash only for gift card purchases, but varies by store. Keep in mind Plenti points are easier to cash out for a lot of people now.

Can this be used online to stack Chase Freedom 5x and 6ppd through the UR portal?

Bought the variable add Brinker card for $30. Worked as part of the Chili’s category and got 600 points.

New to plenti, sorry for the noob question: I log into my plenti account and don’t see any offers. Are there plenti offers that don’t need to be activated from your account?

(and if there’s a plenti primer for this sort of intro stuff, sorry!)

Speaking of 5% cash back at drugstores for Citi Dividend card, does it make sense to buy VGCs for say 1500 (3x 500 VGC) and earn 5% * 1500 = 75$ in cash back. Considering the activation fees, say 5.95 & 3, you can net easy 60$

That’s my plan, times 4. Planning to do the whole $6000 this quarter.

Rite Aid doesn’t accept CC for prepaid Gift Cards. They do accept for store GC’s (Amazon, Netflix etc).

I wonder if the 2 per customer limit applies to specific brand or across all GCs? I have already used this offer once buying a $50 Netflix card and a pair of $15 itunes (I played it safe and did it in two separate transactions), worked like a charm! Except that the store assistant initially refused to accept credit card for the Netflix card, demanding cash and citing some vague rule applicable cards with variable value. I almost bought with cash (still a good deal), but when they entered the value, the terminal offered to swipe my credit card, which I did.

its YMMV depending on cashier and mgr like many other stores. you always get the internal police citing random rules they make up. you just move on. glad it worked out this time.

the cashier called for a supervisor, but they didn’t seem to be very sure or insisting too much. The terminal literally said ‘swipe your credit card’ and I suggested that I do that. They said fine and it worked, so it wasn’t hard-coded in my store.

Each deal has a separate limit of 2. I’m pretty sure that for a $50 card with a limit of 2 you can get a single $100 card. I don’t think there’s anything to prevent you from having multiple Plenti accounts.

In addition to the Chase Freedom bonus this quarter, there’s also a drugstore bonus for the Citi Dividend, which has the added advantage of having an annual $6000 limit rather than a quarterly $1500 limit.

the weekly limit applies to each group of cards – basically each bullet in DoC post has it’s own limit of 2 offers per plenti card.

you can have multiple plenti cards (they have no way to prevent that) but it may not be fun to manage them. Rite Aid has these deals all the time.

Also, not sure why DoC didn’t post this warning… but there are many data points on SD: when buying gift cards at Rite Aid, always use your regular plenti card (credit card sized) not the keychain mini-card. for some reason those mini-cards sometimes glitch out and credit the plenti points to a totally different plenti account, you won’t be able to use them.
it’s mind boggling this happens and Rite Aid hasn’t been able to fix it but it’s better be safe than sorry.

Just type your Plenti phone number in the verifone terminal. I’ve never used the physical Plenti card.
