Saving Big on Hilton Stays with Amex Offers

Two separate Amex Offers are going now at Hilton, and a third offer for any hotel.

For those who got the third offer, it will stack with either of the first two offers (or any other hotel offer you see – there are other offers people have seen in their login as well). Together, it amounts to a considerable discount.

The first two deals aren’t supposed to stack since the former excludes Garden Inn locations and the later is only for Garden Inn locations. In practice, one Slickdeals member was able to get them to stack on a booking at hilton.com for a Hilton brand hotel. He ended up getting $150 off a $300 Hilton stay from the three offers combined. Keep this in mind.

  • T&C excludes a ton of properties. Is the idea that you could still stay at one of them if booking via Hilton.com because it will code as a generic hilton purchase? If not, the exclusions wipe out many of their properties.

Excludes: Waldorf Astoria™ Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts™, Canopy by Hilton™, Curio - A Collection by Hilton™, DoubleTree by Hilton™, Embassy Suites by Hilton™, Hilton Garden Inn®, Hampton by Hilton™, Homewood Suites by Hilton™, Home2 Suites by Hilton™ and Hilton Grand Vacations™

  • I was not expecting to get all three offers stacked, but I did!
    $60 off $300 Hilton
$40 off $200 Hilton Garden Inn
    $50 off $250 any hotel

Paid >$300 for a two-night stay at a Hilton (not Garden Inn). I got three emails after booking (two standard Amex Offer emails, one telling me how to make sure I get the $50 off $250). The HGI Amex Offer email was definitely surprising. I chose the prepaid rate on purpose since the stay was after the offers expired. I was concerned about not getting the $50 off $250 since the email instructions said I needed to pay upon checkout. Looks like prepaying did the trick though! All three offers posted after two days.

Awesome! Time to see if I get anything from my new Diamond status...

  • My wife and I are going on a cruise with my parents in June out of Florida, and we needed 2 rooms for 1 night. Closest we could find was a HGI. The rooms were cheap, about $120 each night. I used my AMEX to book the prepaid rate (stay in June, offers expire in April) for 2 rooms, and the total was something like $275. This activated the $35 off $175 for HGI as well as $50 off $250 offers. What would've REALLY been interesting is if the total for the 2 rooms was $305 and I got the $60 Hilton credit as well. I guess I'll never know...
