Shopathome to Discontinue their ShopGold Program

Shopathome has a rewards program called ShopGold which gets users get an extra $.50 in SAH rewards per purchase made using the SAH portal. These rewards are then used to purchase gift cards, separate from the portal payout. There are some other ways to earn ShopGold too.

SAH is closing down the ShopGold program effective August 16. You can continue to redeem rewards through November 2.

Effective Aug. 16, 2016, ShopAtHome.com will no longer award ShopGold points.
You may continue to redeem your ShopGold points for gift cards through Nov. 2, 2016. After Nov. 2, 2016, ShopGold points will no longer be redeemable. Please review our updated Terms and Conditions for additional details or Contact Us with further questions.

I’m not sure where to find this change state, but a few readers informed us about it. We’ll update if we get a direct link. Click on your ShopGold balance to see this message.

Shopathome has also discontinued their 110% Best Rate Guarantee beginning today, 8/2/16.

  • Thought I'd pass this along, in case you have a lot of ShopGold points, but don't want to make purchases right away. As long as you've redeemed the ShopGold points and have revealed the codes (and recorded the info from them, in case that part of the web site goes away), the gift cards can be used after 11/2 This came directly from SAH:

    Yes, you can still use your gift cards after November 2nd if you have not used them by then and you have revealed the codes. Please note that if you have not revealed the codes by then, you will not be able to use them. You will also not be able to purchase more gift cards if you have not redeemed all your ShopGold by then as well.

  • Even though they said that we would no longer award ShopGold points effective Aug 16, seems they've already started removing it from some stores. I was going to use them to bid on something on ebay (1% + ShopGold vs 1.1% at BeFrugal and TopCashack). Guess I know I won't be using SAH for ebay anymore, unless they have a higher %.

  • This is messed up! Negative changes on consecutive days. Up next cash back rates dropping? I hope this doesn't spell the beginning of the end

  • This is rather dumb on their part. I used shopathome frequently. Time to cash everything out!

  • Just log into your account and click on the shop gold balance on the top right corner. The bad news is red in the banner.

  • Totally no longer worth considering anymore... I'm glad I have exactly 525 SG now, so I don't have to worry putting some spending on there to redeem the rest...
