ShopBack Highlights
Direct Link to ShopBack (this link contains my referral code)
ShopBack is a cashback portal and extension – click through the portal or the extension and earn cashback on purchases at hundreds of retailers.
Here a few interesting offers that I see right now; these offers will change over time. You should be able to see many of the current boosted deals at this link.
- Amazon (portal link)- ShopBack is offering
$1 back for each and every purchase you make on Amazon$.50 back on an Amazon order that is $5+. This is limited to 5 purchases each month. Note:- The terms exclude purchases paid with your Amazon gift card balance.
- For the Amazon cashback you need to click through the extension, whereas for other retailers you can click through the online portal without the extension.
- ShopBack does insert their affiliate cookie on the Amazon purchase which will supersede any other affiliate you clicked from.
Walmart (portal link) – currently they are offering 20% back on Walmart purchases in select categories. Max $15 cashback.Doordash (portal link) – 10% back, up to $10 back on an order.Uber EATS – earn $4 on each order (not limited to first order like on other portals).
Referral Bonus $15 & More
ShopBack has a nice signup bonus of $15 for new members who sign up using a referral link. The $15 will reflect immediately in your ShopBack. Within 180 days, the new member has to earn $5 in Confirmed Cashback. The $15 referral bonus will then become available if you’ve confirmed your Paypal withdrawal details.
There’s also a $15 bonus for the referrer. After signing up, you’ll be able to find your referral link on this page.
If you ever wanted to buy me a drink, here is my ShopBack referral link. Thanks. 🙂 (You’ll see the referral bonus reflected when clicking through the link. You can also go directly to Shopback.com and enter referral code 9f41g1 during signup and you’ll see the $15 signup bonus reflected on the page.)
$5 Extension Bonus
They also typically have a special offer for new members to get $5 for adding the Shopback browser extension and using it once. These offers vary, but keep a lookup on your Quests.
$6 Shipping Bonus
New users typically also have an offer to get $5.98 in bonuses via two $2.99 shipping rebates if you shop through the Shopback browser extension. You have to apply the rebate at checkout and then the cashback shows up in your account afterward. Some report getting those shipping rebates even when there was no shipping cost. YMMV. New users should see this shipping rebate offer on their Quests page. It only works at select retailers (including Walmart, Best Buy, eBay, Petco, Temu, DoorDash, Newegg and more), and only when using the extension. Easyish $5.98 in bonuses.
Quests Bonus
You can also get various other bonuses on Shopback by going to the Quests tab at the top of the page, or use this link. Be sure to ‘Join’ the Quests and then afterward ‘claim’ the bonus. You might be doing some of these activities anyway and these are easy additional bonuses.
Here are some of the Quests bonuses, these bonuses will change over time; I’ll leave these here just as examples:
- $10 bonus for shopping any 3 brands
- $20 on first purchase with a minimum spend of $10 or more
- $20 for spending $250 on travel brands
- For Ulta and Bed Bath & Beyond: shop $100 and get $10 (that’s on top of the regular portal rates)
Note: Quests are sometimes shown only to selected users, and they also have a quota which runs out; it can run out until you ‘Claim’ it so do that as soon as you can. Click on each Quests offer separately to find additional details and terms of the offer.
Cashout
ShopBack offers Paypal to cashout. $5 minimum required to cashout.
Update History
- (7/23) Walmart 10% back, up to $10 max cashback.
- Bonus for referrer has also gone down from $35 to $15. Bonus for new member is still at $15.
- (7/15-7/23) Quest offer for $5 back at Giftcards.com when you spend $150.
- (7/22, 10am-2pm PT) UberEATS 10% back, up to $5 max cashback.
- (7/22 only) Trip.com 14% hotels, 10% car rentals, 1% flights
- (7/21 only) Private Internet Access 120% back. There is a 30-day money back guarantee from the company which is helpful in case there’s an issue with portal tracking.
This can be a $30 moneymaker if you add a couple of add-ons and bring order total to $151.74. With similar deals, the add-ons have tracked properly.Update: apparently, only the AV add-on tracks while the IP add-on does not track. And so max moneymaker here would be to do the 2-year with AV add-on for $91.74 and get back $110.09, for a $18 moneymaker. (If you already bought the two add-ons, you’ll probably want to just cancel it with the 30-day money back guarantee, if you don’t want to pay for the service.) - (7/21 only) Trip.com 14% hotels, 10% car rentals, 5% flights
- (7/20-7/21) Ulta 15% back, up to $20 max cashback.
- (7/17-7/18) Booking.com 15% back on flights, car rentals, hotels. Limit $15 cashback per booking, so mainly interesting for low price bookings. (Stack with Quests offer for $10 back with $800 travel spend.)
- (7/19, 10am-2pm PT) DoorDash 10% back, up to $5 max cashback.
- Major negative change – The $1 per order on Amazon is now down to $.50 and limited to just 5 per month. Also it’s only for orders which are at least $5.
- Bonus for new member is $15. There is also typically a $5 offer for adding browser extension, $6 shipping credits, and sometimes special Quests offers for new users.
- Bonus for referrer is $35. Big thank you to anyone who signs up using my referral link. These types of things encourage me to keep it up.
- (7/14/25) CyberGhost VPN 120% back, $14 moneymaker with the the 2-year plan mentioned on the portal which costs $56. Update: I see now an option to add a dedicated IP which brings the cost up to $117. The add-on cost should track with the portal, as far as I can tell from the terms. That turns this into a $23 moneymaker.
- (7/12-7/14) DoorDash 10% back, up to $10 cashback, limit 1. Groupon 20% back.
- See all live deals at this link.
- (7/12-7/14) New Quests offer for $10 back after spending $300 at Electronics stores (Best Buy, Newegg, Dell, etc. Amazon is not included). Multiple separate purchases should combine to get you to $300.
- (7/4-7/14) 7% back on Booking.com, VRBO, and on hotel bookings from Expedia and Hotels.com.
Older update history can be found at this link.
Our Verdict
This looks to be an easy $15 with the initial signup referral bonus if you can get $5 in cashback earnings (e.g. five Amazon purchases or any other merchant). And hopefully you’ll get a few Quests bonuses or other increased offers which can spruce up your earnings further.
Other than the initial signup bonuses, the portal can be useful for the cashback earn on Amazon and for some of the other boosted cashback offers as well. Always compare rates against other shopping portals on Cashbackmonitor or another aggregator.
ShopBack has a Wikipedia page and has apparently been around since at least 2015. They seem to be an established company in other countries and are now expanding into the U.S. (We have no direct relationship with ShopBack.)
The Shopback platform has a sleek and professional feel. I also like that the terms are spelled out clearly for each retailer. Hopefully this will turn out to be another useful shopping portal/extension. Feel free to chime in below with your experiences.

Does Walmart offer pay out on Walmart gift card purchases made online? Asking for a friend :)
Sorry, I meant does ShopBack offer pay out on Walmart gift card purchases made online? Asking for a friend 🙂
Negative DP:
I did one of the $1 Walmart deal (Scrub Daddy Sponges) on July 11 and contacted support after 10-days of "cashback" showing as $0.00 (even though the purchase amount was recorded correctly). I contacted support who replied that my purchase was ineligible - even though I clicked on the link from their website and bought the item directly from that page!
Ugh, maybe return the item.
Did anyone else have success with the $1 daily deals?
I actually wanted to try this product out, so I may or may not return it. It's still annoying when things like these don't pan out and we are given an hypocritical turn-around...
Account finally reinstated after a bunch of back and forth with support (and me CCing a bunch of shopback execs on one of the emails lol)
Purple zone was the shutdown trigger in my case it seems, support says I can continue earning cashback but play offers will be auto rejected
Oh great I'm currently fighting adgem for a offer that tracked originally but stopped tracking halfway through. Guess I should stop purple zone offers, wondering if my acct will be permanently suspended as it got reinstated several weeks ago
Yeah, the purple zone ended up being pretty profitable (especially the pseudo-gambling apps where you can actually withdraw the $$$ once it tracks) but it wouldn’t have been if they didn’t unban me.
Not sure which gambling apps u were referring to, coinmaster? That one i did originally and had half it tracking right before I was banned. Then after banning i stopped playing it. Should have kept at it to get all goals as I was unbanned but oh well. Raid shadow legends I picked up during double cash back. First half tracked but since then its stopped tracking. Purple zone offers can definitely be lucrative but incredibly frustrating, plus these bans are ridiculous
Any of the real money “skill based” games, multiple solitaire apps, “bingo” games, bubble cash, lucky duel (which is a straight up slot machine app). At this point after getting unbanned i’ve actually withdrawn all the shopback money and withdrawn some of the money after the required playthrough successfully
not coinmaster that one is just a regular in app purchase pay to win game, can’t win real money, but I did do the offer on it still profitable
surprisingly, all the “totally not gambling” app withdrawals were pretty much instant! didn’t get all of the money out because they require cycling it a bit, but if you’re ok at the games you can get 50-80% back depending on the game. and thats on top of the purple zone cashback which on its own makes it profitable. maybe not really worth the time invested, but gaming this stuff is fun for me haha
apparently though, this pattern of doing all the in app purchase offers raises flags on their side. maybe slower than I did would be ok, or maybe this is unprofitable activity for them and they will just shut it down. can mitigate this risk by keeping less unconfirmed and unwithdrawn at any given time, but I sped up towards the end because the purple zone offers had started confirming really quick (1 or 2 days after tracking) so I thought my account was in a good state
The email I got said mine was suspended and the decision is final. Did you get anything like that? I'm sure mine was suspended too because of the purple zone.
They didn’t say “final” but they did say things like “fraudulent activity “ and “no appeals process”, so it sounded pretty final. I would just keep making noise / asking to escalate the matter
This whole tracking versus confirmed date has me a little hesitant. My Cyberghost tracked but I have to wait until midway through Oct for the payout which is way past the refund date. Of course that makes sense to avoid fraud but it has me uneasy that they may ban me for some made up reason before then. I would really like to do the PIA VPN as I liked them better than CyberGhost when I had them in the past. Am I worrying to much? I don't need a VPN enough to pay for it myself but I'll take a freebie. I'm actually thinking of cancelling Cyberghost before the 45 day even though it shows tracked.
Most of my trips have been confirmed much faster than the “confirm by” date. Why don’t you wait until the refund date, and then cancel if the trip hasn’t been confirmed yet?
The VPNs tend to confirm pretty slowly. These VPN "moneymakers" are picking up pennies in front of a steamroller IMO. I bet statistically they are actually money losers if you account for the risk of getting banned, not tracking etc
You’re right, but my point is there’s no reason to worry now. The “confirm by” date isn’t hard and fast, so Ig might as well wait to closer to the refund cutoff before cancelling in case it is confirmed early.
Did the Private Internet Access offer with the 2 add-ons (AV and dedicated IP) added for a total of $151.74.
Few hours later received an email stating my cashback is tracked ($110.09).
Logged in and checked ShopBack tracked item and it lists the purchase amount as $91.74.
$91.74 on the PIA site is for 2 years and the AV add-on, so the dedicated IP did not track.
I will cancel PIA instead of fighting with ShopBack about this.
Same here. How to get the refund? Do you have to email CS?
I contacted via email. Am still in the "are you sure you want to cancel? can you please tell me why" stage.
Ugh, let me add an update. I know with the other VPNs it had tracked the add-ons.
Thanks for commenting.
I am not banned (yet, at least), since I can still log in my account.
However, when I tried to withdraw the earned cashback money for the second time, I got an error below and cannot withdraw despite completing SMS verification, while I could withdraw money a week ago for the first time.
An error has occurred. Please inform us at help@shopback.com. (20004)
Does anyone have the same issue?
I have the same error now
I was able to withdraw through PayPal today
Are you using ACH or Paypal? Wondering if it's an ACH issue. I haven't been having issues with Paypal.
I'm using PayPal. Already did withdraw three weeks ago on the same PayPal account. I don't game their system either.
Since when do you have an ACH option on your account? I only have a PayPal option.
I just checked now when people mentioned it, and I see the ACH option for me.
I see an ACH option today. It wasn't there a while ago; not sure when it appeared. It looks like they only support 30 specific banks; after selecting a bank, it asks for routing & account number. I haven't tried doing a withdrawal that way.
@guest_2041211,
I missed the initial comment from @guest_2103471. That's why I was confused when @6 mentioned ACH.
Anyway, I just logged into my account and I also have that option. I went to test it out but decided not to for now as I didn't like the fact that it didn't ask whether my account was a checking or savings account. What do you think?
I'm guessing in many cases the bank would accept the ACH deposit even if the wrong type (checking vs savings) was specified, but yeah, there's some risk that it'd be rejected. Probably safest to use a checking account (since that's probably what they assume people would use).
I'll probably stick with PayPal, to avoid giving out my bank account number.
Just to clarify, I had the issue with paypal and not ACH. I never had any issue with paypal before and I have had a couple of withdrawals.
Yes, I just go this issue despite SMS verification. Did you send an email.
Also just noticed you can withdraw via ACH transfer. This seems to be a new option. Not sure if this new function is causing the error.
Same issue (paypal transfer) on 7/20.
Today 7/21, all good.
Interesting, let us know if this gets resolved, maybe the ACH option isn't fully functional yet.
Had problem yesterday, but no issue today. Phew, thought I was in trouble with shopback
After a few days finally got a reply, accusing me of “Fraudulent activity “ on the account and refusing to unlock it.
I recommend not leaving too much pending here at once. I’m going to try talkng this to small claims court since I had like 500 or 600 in there, what a hassle
Actually i’m not sure if I can use small claims if they aren’t headquartered in my state..anyone got ideas for recourse here? It’s more about the principle that the money..
Other ways to establish jurisdiction/venue.
Can you explain more? I can't even find a US address for shopback / ecommerce enablers pte, let alone an address in my state
Used your referral Chuck!
I made 2 amazon purchases of $2.50 each. Both with a gift card. Both tracked at $0.50 each. This is against their own rules. I fully expected it to just not track! I hope they don't ban me for it.
btw ShopBack is a southeast Asia company.. usually these companies are extremely stingy for users.. which is why I'm not surprised to see some big promos.. but also a lot of people getting their accounts closed without warning and other nonsense
