Always worth doing these if your eligible as you never know when you’ll get a larger than expected payout.

"We have detected inconsistencies with your submission and / or interactions with the website." Anyone else get this?
Got this on P2. Went again in incognito mode and it had a different form that did not require serial numbers and device types, just the number of devices.
Form worked.
Same. Sent them an email. Not sure what the issue is. Slightly more descriptive than most website errors, but not by much.
Where does it ask for the IMEIs, serial #s, and/or proof or purchase? I went through the form and submitted, I didn't see that info being requested anywhere.
A payout of $20 per device seems highly unlikely given the number people filing the claims…
Probably correct, but I apply to any class action I may be entitled to anyway. I have been pleasantly surprised to the tune of over $300 in just the last year alone, all for the trouble of filling out a few forms. I like money!
Definitely going to be maxed out.
$95m, minus 30% for the lawyers, and $6m in expenses. $10k for the 5 named plaintiffs.
Leaves $60.45m, and at $20/ea would be no more than 3,024,250 claims.
For comparison, Apple shipped 25 million iPhones alone to the US in just one quarter -- 2025Q1. And that doesn't include a smaller number of ipads and macs.
Agree. Gonna be like the Verizon one where expected payout was several hundred for long term subscribers and I ended up getting like $3 and was a 15 year customer.
To be fair though, there was that CLEAR settlement for any Californian who lived there from 2016 to 2024 and only 125,000 applied. I think they cross checked their info though, as I submitted a record for my dad and it was rejected. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/27-5m-thomson-reuters-clear-privacy-class-action-settlement/
My first submission didn't go through on Brave browser, likely due to privacy setting. Used Chrome and submission went through no problem.
I also used brave and it took a few hours to get the confirmation email.
It's a bummer, because I did not write down the serial number or IMEI or anything for my iPhone 5 & 6 (been on Android since 2020). Probably no way to really look that up, right?
Search "serial" in your camera roll. I was able to find 4 of my old devices serial # because I had screenshot the about page years ago for various reasons
If you ordered from Apple web site there should be an order confirmation in your email, that's what I used
If you still have access to your Apple account, you might be able go get them. I just pulled up my iCloud account and copied out the first 5 devices in my account.
how can i find the older phones that are no longer connected to the account?
Not sure. I tend to keep records of that stuff for insurance purposes but not everyone does. As mentioned you could find on receipts.
It's not about the money, they don't need it. They did it cause they just love it. Trust me, I know.
All phone manufacturers do it. They do facial recognition. They track your position. Apps scrape data from your bank apps. Casinos do facial recognition and track you and correlate your personal data from information brokers. And some feel TSA invades one's privacy. Ha.
Facial and fingerprint on your phone stay on your phone.
You're missing the point.
The technical ability to collect whatever they want, whenever they want is here.
It's been done already.
If only someone warned people about it... Oh well
From the claim form - it looks like it maxes at 5 devices if you don't receive a claimant code via mail or email. Don't know if that implies more than 5 devices are eligible if you get that code or note. Proof of purchase is allowed for devices, or you can provide Serial/Model
"If you do not have a Claimant Identification Code and Confirmation Code, you may submit claims for up to five Siri Devices, but you must provide the information in the chart below for each Siri Device you are submitting a claim for. If you have proof of purchase for a device (e.g., a receipt or invoice) you may upload it or attach it to the Claim Form and do not need to fill out any other information for that device. If you have the serial number, please provide the serial number for that device and the model name (i.e., iPhone X)."
"Settlement Class Members may submit claims for up to five Siri Devices on which they claim to have experienced an unintended Siri activation during a conversation intended to be confidential or private. Settlement Class Members who submit valid claims shall receive a pro rata portion of the Net Settlement Amount for a Class Payment of up to a cap of $20 per Siri Device. The amount available to Settlement Class Members will increase or decrease pro rata depending on the total number of valid claims submitted, and Siri Devices claimed."
It’s five regardless if you got the code. I got an email and it still says five. Five seems easy enough for me condering the date Rand includes over 10 generations of phone model releases
I only did one iPhone, the rest were HomePods for me.
Just realized how many typos my response had from my phone...
