SoFi Invest $50 Bonus When You Invest $1,000+

Update 7/22/20: Reduced to $50 from $75.

Update 3/31/20: It’s now a bonus of $75 instead of $50. Same investment requirement of $1,000+

Update 3/9/20: They’ve updated it to a bonus of just $50 for signing up. The investment requirement is easier at just $1,000.

Update 1/30/20: Deal now requires an investment of $5,000+

Update 1/9/2020: Deal is back to $100 again, not sure if it ever dipped below $100 though

Update 12/8/19: SoFi is now issuing the referral bonus to the person doing the referring as stock bits, rather than a flat $100 (you still receive $100 in stock bits) this can cause market fluctuations meaning you have more/less than $100. For whatever reason SoFi hasn’t updated the fine print to reflect this. Hat tip to reader Vic J

The Offer

Requires a referral, share your referrals in this linked post

  • SoFi is offering a $100 bonus when you open a new SoFi Securities LLC active brokerage account and fund it with at least $5,000. $100 bonus will be in the form of a fractional share in a company

Our Verdict

Bonus was $25, then it was increased to $50 and now we see it at $100. The amount you need to invest was $1, then $100 and now $1,000 so does require a much bigger investment. This is basically four times the standard bonus so that’s nice. We will be adding this to the best brokerage bonus page. Do not share your referrals in the comments below, they can be shared in this linked post instead (make sure you don’t share a link if you’ve already shared one there already).

If I have an existing SoFi Money account only, would I be considered a new customer of SoFi Invest for the promo?

Down to $50, but does appear to be churnable. Referred P2 in September of last year and closed my account. P2 referred P1 a couple weeks ago and $50 for both parties yet again.

I opened this account on 5/18/2020 and funded the $1000, the bonus appeared in my account on 5/25/2020 in the form of the fractional share that I chose. No issues encountered 🙂

Any problems with pulling out my deposited amount and the $75 bonus immediately after receiving the bonus? Didn’t read anywhere about minimum amount of time I need to hold it in the account.

When I visit https://www.sofi.com/money/, I’m seeing a banner stating “Get up to $150 when you open a SoFi Money and Active Invest account in the app”

Can’t find any other info about it though. I assume there are minimum deposit/invest requirements?

Terms for the $150 are stated when you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.

The $150 is $75 cash, and a $75 stock bit for downloading the app, and opening an Active Invest account with $1000 minimum for 30 days.

Do they allow in-kind transfers or do you have to sell positions and only deposit cash and invest in their products?
