  • Has anyone been able to load the bluebird debit card with VGC lately at Walmart?
I went today and was unable to load them. The cashier said this is a gift card, so cannot be used.

    • @guest_1222823 No guarantee but you'll have better luck with swipes of less than $100. For instance, I did a Bluebird load with one of these cards yesterday with swipes of $75, $75, and $50.

        • @guest_1223436 Cashier. I don't think that WM has had kiosks capable of this for years, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

      • I've never tried it before, but I'm going to give it a go. What's the best way to phrase it to the cashier? "I'd like to load this card with 3 separate swipes?"

        • @guest_1223251 Give the full amount first and then when they're ready for you to swipe, say "this first swipe will be $__," etc.

          • Thanks for the tip! Is there a max # of swipes they allow? I've got thousands I need to xfer to BB.

          • @guest_1223745 Four swipes per transaction, and the initial swipe of the BB card counts as one.

          • Thanks again! Was able to load 2 200s today using this method. It worked, but I didn't make the cashier lady very happy. :)

          • Many cashiers don't know how to load BB. The ones who do know may get confused and suspicious about multiple swipes. Do one swipe per transaction. That's what i do. I do multiple transactions back-to-back. Need to find a cashier who would do that. This is at a regular terminal and not MC/Cs.

          • Thanks for the tip. How many transactions will they do for you before refusing? Do you generally get more in at a regular terminal vs MC?

  • Anyone use GBank as liquidation method lately? They have been coding as GDN reload with 3.74 load fee this week. Hopefully it’s just the terminal at my MS friendly MC.

  • Stupid question, getting the following error when trying to register one of the VGCs. Do I just need to wait and try again tomorrow? The VGC looks totally normal and the other 4 cards were BAU.

"We are unable to process your request at this time. If you continue to receive this error, please contact Cardholder services by calling the number on the back of your card."

    • I have that happen once in awhile. Most of the time it's a wrong number entered in one of the fields. The 8s look like 0s sometimes in the CID to me :)

Just try again and double check the numbers.

      • Thanks! Gave it an hour and tried again - all set. And agree, the 8s and 0s do look strikingly alike.

  • "Nah, man. They stopped sending $200 ones to us. You can check other Staples."

    How plausible is this excuse?

    • It's bullshit. Stores don't get sent things. They do inventory and ask for what they need.

  • Anyone know when the Office Depot will do the VGC promotions? Did they do in June? The local Staples always keeps the GCs during the promotion.

  • What's the issuer for these? I've had trouble liquidating Simon Visa in my area.

  • Noob question

Is it possible to use these at PL$ or check cashing places ? I am in nyc we don't have a lot of grocery stores
