Has anyone ever had one of these rebates cards lost in the mail? Mine was mailed on May 30 and I still haven’t received it. I contacted Staples and they said wait 15 days but its been 14 and I cant see it taking that long, I’m guessing its lost/stolen.

As a PSA to others, if you’re receipt prints without an Easy Rebate # any barcode scanning app works to read it and you can enter as usual.

The staples near me was cleaned out of these cards, but I went to another one a bit further away and they had tons of them. Also never had issue getting MO with them from WM but this time I made the mistake of trying to do so without using a real debit card for the fee.. then they found out it was GC which I wasn’t even aware was not allowed until now. I ended up going to a different WM and successfully got MO from there.. oops.

I get this message when trying to apply for my rebate at stapleseasyrebates.com – “Sorry, it looks like you aren’t eligible for any rebates”

I’m getting this on two purchases made back to back on 5/23/17. Is anyone else having this problem?

Staples chat was able to help me. The rebate number wouldn’t work in Chrome for some reason but went through fine in IE.

Thanks for this advice. I had the exact same problem. Chrome didn’t find any rebates but IE found it. I thought I was going to have to do a staples chat but you saved me the trouble. Thanks.

Has anyone had their Chase Ink card denied at Staples to buy VGC? I tried several times today with no luck… when I called Chase they said the charge wasn’t denied on their end.

This happened to me today.
Register kept showing me an error message asking to try alternative payment method.

And I thought it might be hard coded in their register now?

My card was declined yesterday. Store cashier said it is their system glitch. Figure crossed, will try again tomorrow.

wondering anybody tried Android pay with Ink, does that still count towards 5x at staples?

I wasn’t able to add Ink plus to Android Pay.

None of the receipts are showing the rebate number but only the barcode which causes problems for those submitting the rebate online (online requirement of the number). Some store workers realize this and try to plac the handwritten number below the barcode if it is brought to their attention. But, beware that they’ve made some slight mistakes when handwriting it by adding #s that cause you not to qualify (inadvertent on their part). If you use email and print during checkout that might help send the rebate number in the email, BUT make sure you use a different email for each visit if you have more than one household for this rebate. The other option, mentioned upthread, is to install a barcode reader on your phone so you can scan the number and verify what the store clerk handwrote. We’ve found slight inconsistencies. Of course, this is a moot point if your location is already out of the $200s.

Considering that you can get $30 off at the register with $300 in visa gift card purchases at Safeway makes this deal suck.

It definitely doesn’t suck to get 5X points at Staples with an Ink card!

Most folks have already maxed out their freedom cards for this quarter.

This. Both my freedoms were maxed within the first week of Q2. Was going to buy a $500 VGC at vons today already maxed 6% on Blue Cash so it’s off the Staples VGC deal on ink.

It doesn’t suck. It’s just another deal. And unlike Safeway deals, which are only available to a minority of the country’s population, this deal is available for pretty much everyone here.

I actually tried buy a GC at a grocery store around here, Stop & Shop, for the 5x points on my 2nd Freedom card yesterday. It was declined both at the register and at the courtesy desk.. I was able to buy my groceries. The store thinks my card is the problem but I have never heard of Chase doing this and I’ve done this probably a dozen times since they started allowing us to use CC for GC purchases a couple of months ago. I think it might just be a bad card from off their giftcard rack.

The Staples deal is not as good as it seems. Buying $300 worth of Visa cards means buying 2 cards, one $200 card their highest denomination with a cost of $6.95 and a $100 card that they charge a fee of $5.95. These fees eat away $13 of the $20 free card.

That’s the point.. getting the cards at no cost. The real value is 5x UR points or helping to meet bonus spend requirements.

Whole idea of doing this deal is for MSing purpose and/or making about $27 by using a 5% CB card.

I only do it because I get a pre-paid sales commissions card from my job which only works at some places like Staples.. so to convert it to cash this deal is useful for doing so without losing money in the transaction.

Some locations are out if they didn’t restock from the last promo, but if yours has some count your blessings.
