  • All I see is 20% off for students and teachers wonder if it's specific to an area...

    • @guest_2082366 Promotion should be visible under your Target Circle Deals. An alternative way is to go to your main account page, scroll down to your verified status, and click on the button listing deals for teachers.

  • There's a big button that says Get Verified (upload teacher ID). I guess you may not really have to do it, but this promo is clearly intended for actual teachers. Taking the $5 if you're not a teacher is just as tacky as grabbing cans of soda out of the Greenwich Lounge at JFK and stashing them in your bag before your flight.

I have disdain for teachers. But it is unethical to claim this promo if you are not a teacher.

    • No. Screw teachers. They are poorly paid and that should tell you how much society really values them (look at actions, not words). I will not fall into the polite fiction trap of shouting out to teachers for their supposed valor. Most teachers suck and that's a big reason why most US schools are disasters.

      • Teacher here, if you can do better, show us up. You might have had a bad experience with a teacher, or maybe you have ODD (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/oppositional-defiant-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20375831), but with any career there are bad actors, I'm sorry you had one. I work with empathetic and hardworking teachers who care about their students. We all go above what is asked of us to help that 14-year-old who's struggling, academically or emotionally. If you don't like what we're doing for 45 mins a day academically with that student (and the emotional well-being of the student), please volunteer your time or become a teacher.

        • I work in a service profession (health care), yet I don't immediately accuse people of being mentally ill when someone criticizes my profession.

"You have no right to criticize unless you have my job" is similarly a bullshit line of argument.

You're doing a great job of proving his point for him.

          • If you actually worked in healthcare you'd know how common metal illness is among those who hate healthcare workers. Lmao

      • They're coming for you. You're not allowed to espouse views contrary to the narrative, all sources of data must be cited by peer review study, and any first hand real life experience is considered hyperbole and of no value to the hive. This will cost you one social credit demerit.
