  • Why would you buy a generic hand sanitizer? would you buy a generic condom brand? i'm puzzled by people sometimes.

    • There were some name brands that contained methenol but were removed prior to this list.

    • Were you even around in March/April?
Besides generics are often made in the same place and from the same things as national brands. Next time you see a generic turn if over and read it. A good example of this is coffee. You will see national coffee brands listed in tiny print on the bottom of some generic coffees.

      • Another example is Great Value laundry detergent. It's hard to find, but on the back it mentions something about being produced by a major player in the detergent game (I believe it's Gain if I remember correctly).

    • If it wasn’t for a generic condom half of the current administration in Washington wouldn’t be alive.

    • Because it was nearly impossible to get at the start of the pandemic because scalpers buying out entire lots. People were just getting what they could.

  • This president seems hell bent on getting Americans killed.

If trump was a russian agent, he would have been the most successful agent by far. Putin, telling his old KGB mates, this is how you recruit agents.

  • Technically, the recall is only for certain lots of this product. I checked lot number on my bottle against list, my bottle seems to be ok.

  • I was wondering about this. Went through the FDA list meticulously the other day and it seems only certain lot numbers and 70% alcohol ones were recalled. Mine was 65% and the lot number wasn't on the list. I haven't received an email from Target. Pretty confusing stuff.

  • Seems to me FDA should also maintain an approved list and test products with a priority for high market share items.

As of now, FDA seems to be only testing imported products. I know for a fact there are numerous hand sanitizer brands with American logo in my grocery store, did FDA test any of those?

    • Maybe that's the point. To start selling ONLY products made in the USA. I don't trust the FDA period, at this point. And think about how many years everybody was using these so-called imported tainted hand sanitizers and not a peep from the FDA.

  • haven't heard from target. i got my info off FDA website. tried to discretely DM @target on twitter, but they don't accept messages. target also does not have an email address at which you can ask a question. looks like they want you to call during business hours! this policy is so inconvenient, it makes me wonder if they are intentionally trying to discourage me from following up on this.

I'd encourage everyone to tweet at them, @target.

  • Are they giving refunds for the bottles we bought in store or otherwise? I haven't received the email yet it seems even if I ordered from them.

    • I never received any email but through their twitter support they were able to refund me.

  • I think this post should be more specific - I did get my "large" hand sanitizer at Target for $3.99 but it was Target up & up branded and 32oz (right when the pandemic started). I don't think that one was covered by this recall.
