[Expired] [Targeted] Citi Cards: Get Extra 5% Back On Grocery/Amazon/Other Purchases (Max $25 Cashback)

Deal has ended, view more Citi deals by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer (check email for subject: <your name>, Earn an additional 4% cash back on eligible Amazon.com purchases.)

  • Earn an additional 4% cash back when you shop for eligible purchases at Amazon.com with your Citi card. Requires enrollment.
  • Other people got Grocery as the category instead of Amazon.
  • Others got department stores/clothing or gas/car rentals/hotels instead.
  • Others got 5% instead of 4%.

The Fine Print

  • This offer starts upon enrollment and will end on 02/28/2021.
  • Earnings associated with this program will equal 4% bonus cash rewards on eligible purchases and may overlap with other special offers in which you are currently enrolled.
  • Bonus cash rewards earned with this offer are subject to a maximum of $25.
  • Your Amazon purchases must post to your account through 02/28/2021. Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the date that your purchases post beyond the promotional period. Returned items and items not bought on Amazon using Amazon Pay do not qualify as eligible purchases. Amazon is not a sponsor of this promotion.

Our Verdict

Earnings are on top of regular rewards, e.g. on the DoubleCash card you’ll end up with 6%. Max this out with $625 in purchases. Reader Trevor got this on their DoubleCash card, it’s probably being sent out on various cards.

Hat tip to reader Trevor

Anyone’s extra rewards post yet? Got it on DC which got moved to new account due to fraudulent charges. I looked at original email and it does say “within 1-2 billing cycles” so could take some time, but just curious. Thanks!

007 Did you ever get your extra rewards? I had an offer ending 4/30, and I just got my 3rd statement since then, and still nothing. No new account either.

Yes, but I had to chat with them several times. Finally, someone took care of it on the back end.

Any reason to do 6 or 7% on Amazon with this offer rather than 2% Amazon debit reload ( https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=15452216011 ) + 5% OnJuno card?

I got 5% back up to $25 until 02/28/2021 for Gas Stations, Car Rentals and Hotels, including eligible vacation rentals. Thanks Citi, not only do I already have the Ducks Unlimited for 5% gas but traveling is not exactly what anyone is doing right now

Jon Did you, by any chance, already receive the statement credit? I had to get a new number due to fraudulent charges, and not sure whether I haven’t gotten the credit yet because of that or if I need to wait another statement cycle. Thanks!

Thanks! Guess I’ll have to wait… I chatted and they gave me the 1-2 statement cycle language. Although my statement did close pretty soon after the 2/28 deadline, not sure whether that might play a role… I’m suspecting changed card number though due to fraudulent charges.

I almost missed this, my email subject was “‘Burton,’ get more of what you want. Get more joy” and was 5% grocery through 2/28, up to $25.
