- Citi is offering some Prestige cardholders a free gift from Tiffany. Eligible cardholders can choose from:
- Chrome Ballpoint Pen
- Crystal Platter
- Old-Fashioned Drinking Glasses
- Tiffany Sheer Eau de Toilette
- Crystal Bowl
- Picture Frame
- Red Wine Glasses
Our Verdict
American Express sometimes sends out gifts to some Platinum cardholders under the #amexappreciates program. That program seems to have no rhyme or reason as to how cardholders are targeted. It’s unclear if this new offering from Citi works similarly or if Citi are specifically targeting people with a large amount of spend on this card or some other factor. If you received this offer in the mail let us know why you might have been targeted below.

can anyone share what the mail looks like? does it have citi branding on the outside like one of their mailers? or is it in a plain looking envelope? And is there a date that the gift must be redeemed by? Thanks
Help me understand why folks on this site don’t like the Prestige? As someone who has had the Amex Platinum before, the Prestige seems like the only card that can very easily pay for itself with the travel credit (which has no ridiculous “choose your airline” hoops to jump thru like Amex) and with the two 4th night free credits. The 5x on restaurants and flights is great too.
Now, I understand it doesn’t have the same benefits as the Chase Sapphire Reserve like trip cancellation benefits, but if the Prestige pays for itself, why not hold onto it?
Trip Delay is a big deal and for most people that is worth more than 2 points vs the CSR. Starting next year, Amex's $550 and $250 cards will have it too.
The Prestige also has no 1.5x (CSR) or 1.25x (Schwab Platinum) redemption option. That is a bigger deal for Citi because the partners are weaker.
A huge portion of the people who are making week long stays in one hotel are putting them on business cards.
I like Amex Platinum because it offers Centurion Lounge access, Hilton Gold (free breakfast and upgrade if available), Amex offers (many good deals), Amex concierge (hotel/restaurant reservations, movie tickets), Amex website and app and customer services.
I like Citi Prestige annual fee ($350) and 5x for dining.
Had Prestige for 3 years. Of course they do this 2 weeks after I downgraded.
Choosing the crystal platter or bowl. It should come in handy to catch the shrapnel from my Prestige after I take my metal snips to it.
