The Offer

Some people are getting an email offer from Discover:

  • Earn a $15 statement credit when you use your Discover card in Samsung Pay 3 times, now through August 1.

The Fine Print

  • This promotion is only available with Discover and Samsung Pay from 6/25/18 through 8/1/18.
  • Three (3) transactions must be made during the promotional period to receive a one-time $15 statement credit.
  • This promotion is intended for the original recipient only and is non-transferable.
  • Users need to set up Samsung Pay on a qualifying Samsung Galaxy device.
  • The statement credit will be applied within 2 billing cycles after the promotional timeframe ends.

Our Verdict

Easy $15 for those targeted. Not sure how widely this was sent out.

  • I never got the email for this, assumed because I've been using my Discover with Samsung Pay. I used it with SP on 6/25 and 6/28 at grocery stores, and on 7/5 for 42 cents at Walmart... Saw today that on 7/12 I got the $15 credit. Not sure what transaction triggered it.

  • Didn't get an email and it's not in my Samsung Pay. FWIW, I did the 3x Paypal and 3x Chase. Wonder if it's only targeting people who didn't do the non-Discover deals.

        • I did not have Discover added. I'm going to add it now, and see if the offer pops up in the next few days.

        • I got the targeted email too, and I already had my Discover card linked to my samsung pay. No minimum spend either? Seems like an easy $15.

  • Can't seem to use the Discover Card and this promotion for buying GCs within Samsung Pay :(

    • I was told SPAY's agreement w/Discover does not allow using Discover card to buy GCs

      • I was told the same thing when I talked on the phone with Samsung Pay, but when I talked to Discover, they said there is no agreement and that it must be Samsung Pay's policy that is preventing the purchase of GC's via the app.
