[Targeted] Get $30 from American Express for a 7-Minute Survey

American Express sent out a 7-minute survey today which comes with a $30 reward. A bunch of people got this one. Typically, most people delete these emails without a glance, and a lot of people didn’t even notice the $30 reward, so here’s your heads-up.

$30 payment will come as a check in the mail. I believe the survey is only sent to business cardholders with questions about their business, e.g. how much do you spend in various categories.

Subject line is ‘We’d like your feedback’.

I was finally targeted for something!

But then I opened it….

“To thank our customers for participating in this survey, a total payment of $15,000 will be allocated among the charities listed below.”

Sigh.

This was the same one I got (for my SPG Biz). I started taking it but stopped once it wanted me to compare a ton of things between my Chase CIP and SPG Biz

Subject line of the email was “We’d like your feedback”

Most questions about how much you spend on various business categories and what cards you have. URL indicates it’s a UK-based research company (which is why they don’t just parse your spending – the survey is on behalf of Amex, but the researchers do not have access to your Amex accounts to sniff your spending habits). An easy $30. Thanks.

Did it mention the $30 in the email? I got an invite to give feedback but it doesn’t mention anything in the email or link about the $30…

Subject was “We’d like your feedback”. It was for the BBP. They asked about personal/biz purchases on personal/biz cards in general across all issuers. And how much biz expenses across categories – so across all cards not just Amex.

wait, why would amex need to know how much you spend on your business categories? Don’t they already have that infor because you use their cards?

I would suspect so, but the vast majority of business owners likely only use one credit card and/or their business credit card issued by american express.

Only 0.1% of credit card users like us would this be relecent since its entirely possible we use multiple cards.

Not remotely true. Many typical business owners have more than one business credit card and with different issuers.

I got one last week – The Gold Delta SkyMiles Business Card from American Express Survey – but it didn’t pay out to me it donated money to one of three charities. – To thank our customers for participating in this survey, a total payment of $15,000 will be allocated among the charities listed below:

Yeah same here. I had a Blue Business Plus card and received the same survey that offered to pay to charities but not to myself.

FYI – American Airlines Widens Divide Between Frequent Flyers and Occasional Passengers

– Probably not a concidence that the company’s stock is down 35% year to date. But Warren Buffet likes them…

Thank goodness you linked to 2 week old news that is OBSCENELY off-topic here and had the decency to credit the original blogger instead of some outlet twice removed. Oh WAIT… well lemme help for next time. Click the MSN link to their source of Dallas Morning News then you’ll see not only more actually useful info (biz class & 1st class will be reaccomodated after 5 hours) but they also note the news actually came from Blogger Gary Leff at VFTW: https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2018/09/30/american-airlines-has-a-new-policy-for-delays-and-cancellations-coach-passengers-wont-like-it/#_ga=2.143249205.126356273.1538348123-698376594.1507995664
