Discover is sending out the following targeted offer (check your email for subject “Get a $20 statement credit, <your name>. Details inside…).

  • Get a $20 statement credit when you do the following:
    • Set Discover as the default payment option on your mobile phone bill
    • Make 2 consecutive recurring charges by 9/30/19

Our Verdict

My guess is just making 2 payments will do the job, even without making it default. In any case, it should be pretty easy for most people to take advantage of this offer if targeted.

  • Manually made two $10 payment on H2O at exactly 1 month apart. The second payment was on 8/25. Received the $20 on 9/3.

  • I did a single auto pay on August 14 towards my cellphone and was surprised to see the credit already posted on Sept 3. Not sure if I should change my payment method to my cash plus now to get 5% back now.
