Treasury Direct Removes Virtual Keyboard From Login

Treasury Direct will be removing the virtual on-screen keyboard for password login purposes, beginning May 7th. Lots of people got very annoyed by this, good to see the change coming. Readers also note that password managers are now working on Treasury Direct as well.

  • When there was a virtual keyboard it wasn’t case sensitive, now it is. So if you had any caps in your password and you’re having trouble logging in, use lower case

    • when i logged into the new system for the first time it told me whatever combination of upper/lower case i chose for that initial login would set my password

  • able o access account at 01 July 2023- BUT- can't drill down for detail son my account balances- when selecting option buttons on top- getting "system unavailable" wtf?!

  • they're bringing the virtual keyboard back again for typing in your password.. so the web site is down while they bring back the retro change

  • Is anyone having a problem logging in to their account? I think the login website link might be broken???

  • I use a script to make me able to autofill with my password manager but theres no way I'm gonna type with that keyboard

  • Anyone else having issues not getting OTPs sent to their email? Over an hour later and multiple requests, still not coming through...

      • Working again, but this better not happen Mon morning when I'll have funds moved into a linked account for TD to draw from for an auction...

Perhaps it's a sign I should be using Fidelity instead of TD(which I know how to use and navigate)
