Is it just me or is the United 30 day Calendar counterintuitive and confusing.
Thanks! Was able to change flights and saved mucho miles. The phone rep and on line will not let you change flights to same flight at lower point value. You need to change to another flight and then wait a couple of minutes then go back a rebook same flight. Works.
Don’t you also risk that the flight with lower mileage requirement may be gone when you come back??
All gone.
Someone at United has been woken up and is back on duty adding zeros to award redemption prices like before.
It's still a lot better than Delta though. I just booked a one-way to Europe in business class in July for 60K miles. Delta didn't have a single itinerary available any day in July for less than 300K miles.
Alrdy booked my RT to philippines next yr in J with JAL. Gonna be a nice long flight & get to check out their First lounge in HND
I've done that flight! Loved it. It was my first biz class flight. Philippines is amazing!
waku waku~ I'm hyped. Only 2 weeks, torn between driving around doing the mountains & volcanoes on Luzon, or doing a dive trip. Idk if I can squeeze both into 2 weeks sigh.
If I do both, decompression means I'd have to do altitude on land first, then also take a day off before flight back. Doing my rescue cert would be tight that way.
I tried to do free diving but realized as a Midwestern American that I can't hold my breath under water for me than 31 seconds before my head explodes. They were free diving through shipwrecks! It was cool AF.
Enjoy it. Flying J in JAL was a blast. Lounge at Haneda was, probably one of the best I've been to.
what's in Philippines? I found the beaches and cities crazy dirty and not much culture compared to other Asian countries
NO. It's amazing. Manila is gross, yes but everywhere else is pretty amazing.
Check out Malcapuya Island, El Nido, Coron, and more. It's gorgeous.
I don’t find the Philippines all that dirty. Traffic is horrific but I’ve only been to Manila and Cebu. Can’t wait to go back and it definitely isn’t as dirty as @Sunshine is making it out to be.
Ive been to 10 Asian countries and none are as dirty as India. Philippines i just went to last dec it was flat out amazing and not too many westerners like Thailand. Thailand is a joke almost more westerners then Thai people and tons of nasty Russians all over its disgusting. So please by all means go to any other of those so called non dirty Asian countries and ones with more culture and leave the Philippines alone!
Sounds like you need to get out of Manila or Cebu. All those pristine islands, volcanoes, and reefs for diving & snorkeling--you call it dirty, what lol. Is the USA dirty because of NYC subway?
How dare you disparage my dirty-ass subway?
I've been to many places outside.. beaches still covered with trash I think it's delusional to call it beautiful.
to each their own i guess
Lol ok dude. Yep, 5th longest coastline in the world, all 7k+ islands just covered by trash around the perimeters, totally.
Did you google "top 5" on tripadvisor for the food too, then hated the "unauthentic" dishes while surrounded by other westerners?
I don't use Tripadvisor.
Food is the one redeeming good quality of Philippines
everything else is shit
to each their own I was just curious
I don't think you've traveled extensively based on your comment. The fact that you mentioned how dirty the beaches are and called their food a redeeming quality are polar opposites of the vast majority of avid travelers. Did you leave the touristy centers?
No offense to Filipinos, but their food is infamous for being the worst in Southeast Asia. Palawan Beach is very beautiful and very clean - not like Maldives/Bora Bora, but better than most beaches.
Well, you're wrong. I've traveled through 110+ countries and lived in Asia over 10 years of my life.
I like clean and beautiful places like Okinawa in Japan. For me everywhere in Philippines is dirty and polluted.. even the places people say is good. Yes, Coron, etc. are nicer, but you have to deal with so much shit to get there and away. It's not worth it for me. I like safe and less stressful destinations especially the older I get.
I find some foreigners have glowing reviews about PH because they fly into resorts.. stay for 1 or 2 weeks.. fuck a few Filipinas.. and then head out with great memories. Or old dirty men who come here to marry a girl because that's all they can get.. and Filipinas are simple minded in general and a bit ignorant.. only thinking how to get security from that guy or get that money. I'm saying Filipinas can be lovely also and caring / loving and that is a GOOD trait.. but also often times extremely one-dimensional, black and white thinking, not a lot of deep thought, etc. going on in here.. and men come here and take advantage of that ignorance. That's the way things are.. and maybe western men need that because western women are more complicated. alright this is getting too in depth for a bank bonus web site.
The culture here sucks though.. oh did I mention I'm in PH right now? ;) When I lived in the Philippines in the past, I traveled to almost every part of this country. So I am speaking through experience I lived here before and I am here for a few weeks now, mainly for logistical reasons for a longer trip I'm doing. But not enjoying it except the food.. Philippines has good fruits, good veggies, and good meats.. though generally not as clean nor cheap as other parts of SE Asia.
Dude didn't get laid in Phillipenes..:(
80k business class appears to have just died in the last few mins. One minute it was abundant; now gone from all routes.
Yeah the availability pretty much cratered in front of my eyes ~10 min or so back
Yep. Painful that was. One stupid IT connection error and bam! Gone.
Same
I'm seeing the same ... was seeing 80k business class between IAD and AKL or SYD, via SFO even. Was there, then around 11PM EST they disappeared.
Booked to/from Europe for 30k/person each way during next spring break of my kids.
Mission accomplished!
Nice what was the route?
Austin -> Rome (Onward)
Paris -> Austin (Return)
Although, I did screw up while booking.
I added the return flight to cart. I needed 8k more miles. So, it automatically added another transaction to purchase 8k miles for about $280.
I then transferred 8k miles from Chase UR for instant transfer.
When I proceeded to the next page, it reflected to show no purchase of miles.
After I booked the tickets, I was left with 8k miles in the cart and extra $280 charge!
Now I am on phone with them to resolve this issue. Don't have lot of hope as this is basically purchasing the miles which probably isn't possible to cancel/fix. You win some! You loose some!
Don’t forget about the Excursionist perk, you can book a flight within Europe for 0 miles + fees in between those flights.
Oh! This is good. Thanks a bunch. I will definitely explore that option.
And they were able to refund the miles purchase as a separate transaction!! All good now.
Phew! Software bugs!!
booked an australia flight, but cant select my seats :(
Nice, was going to book that too
Same here. Anyone know how close to the flight United let’s you select seats?
Just flew United domestic and you can select/change seats up to time of departure. Don't know if international is the same.
Thanks! Just booked a trip with P2 to Chile for next spring, 60k each way in Polaris. Only weird bit was that I could only select economy seats on our connecting flight to IAH. Maybe I can fix that later? If not, no big deal.
I am viewing this on phone and I am unable to find the post among the ads. Just ads everywhere!!

Noone is forcing you to use this site
You're really really bad at this.
The post is one sentence long. And basically contains the exact same information as the title.
Use brave browser
hmm, sound a little salty. "my"? I don't live and am not from the Philippines* (are you handicapped by the poor US education system or something?). But yeah, I'll take domestic maids any day over questionable tax budgets and oil-fueled warmongering, so calm down & get down from that fake pedestal. Lmao
case very much closed.
Imagine trying to shit on a place and compare it to a wealthier country where its own school kids are starving and whose laypeople are doing no better, smh. There's a bigger shame in that. --Oops! I meant, yeah SEA region, pssh so inferior, totally beneath you. Fifth-class, fifth-world countries, amirite?
hmm, are you somehow trying to equate your dear phillippine to the US?
your most popular export is domestic maids.
case closed.
yep you should be careful of usa too; i have heard many horror stories about gun violence, school shooting, and police brutality killing folks on the streets. don't go to that shithole either. canada too; i have heard it takes half a year to see a doctor, so if you have medical emergency, you will just ded.
