Updates on Those Barclay $25 Paperless Credits

We reported on the $25 bonus Barclay was offering for going paperless on the US Airways card. In the past few days there have been numerous reports of the credits posting. Shows up as PROMO STATEMENT CRT.

A couple of interesting things arose on this front:

  • Reddit user Davidknowsbest noted that he got the $25 credit on both his US Airways card and on his Barclay SallieMae card. The bonus had been mentioned specifically regarding the former but somehow he got it on the SallieMae as well.

I myself tried on my Arrival card going paperless but I haven’t gotten any credit. Apparently, Arrival is not eligible.

  • Reportedly, many were told that if they downgraded the card it would still be eligible and the credit would still post. There has been one report of someone getting the $25 credit after  having downgraded the card, but a number of other downgraders say they haven’t gotten the credit yet. It’s still possible that it will post automatically. Otherwise, hopefully they’ll be able to get it added manually.
  • On cards which were closed after having taking up this offer and going paperless, there’s one report of still getting the credit after the card was closed 6 days earlier.
  • People who switched back to paper statements immediately report that they did get the credit.

Please comment below if you had experience with getting the bonus on any card other than the US Airways, or any experience with the downgrade/close scenarios.

  • I received a 25 dollar check instead of a statement credit. I called Barclay and they said I could use the check to buy something at a retailer but I don't see how that is possible since the check say: Pay to the order "my name." Does anyone know what I shpuld do? I don't want to miss out on a free 25 bucks.

  • oh no.. I opted for paperless billing back in december during the offer but cancelled the card this monday to get the second US airways card... should have waited few more days

  • I also received $20 credit for amazon promotion on Arrival card yesterday. ($20 back for $50 spending on Amazon)

  • I got mine - didn't even remember signing up for it and didn't know what it was for. I just logged in and saw the credit - and then checked twitter and saw your post!
