Just tried it, no indication of the offer on the website but received a separate $5 bonus.
Yes, it just worked for me as well.
It still is working for me. Didn't see the extra $5 anywhere on the website, but i did receive a separate e-mail alongside with the $25.
Can also pay via Paypal for 5x points, via Chase Freedom. I haven't visited SB in like 10+ years, but it might be worth checking out and to receive extra plays for the SB for life Promotion as well.

Where are you seeing this? It appeared on my SB app this morning though has since been replaced by a generic gift-card link. I don't see anything about the $5 gift in the above link either. Does that mean this is over?
Note: Some AmEx cards have a 5 points/dollar offer on Starbucks (in my case the Marriott Bonvoy card).
They were only giving out a set number. Probably ran out just after the 3:50 CST that was posted.
