The Offer

  • Currently Verizon seems to be offering a $10 discount on every active line when you start trying to port out to another company.
    • Open your My Verizon app.
Click on the Account icon at the bottom of the app.
    • Click on the “Edit Profile and Settings”
    • Account Settings screen, scroll down to the Security section and click Number Lock.
    • On the Number Lock screen, turn off the Number Lock for each line.
    • Go back to the Account Settings screen and click on Number Transfer Pin.
    • Generate a Number Transfer Pin.
    • Wait a day or two and hope discount is offered

Our Verdict

Lots of datapoints of this working on SD. $10 discount a month is great if you don’t actually want to leave.

  • Anyone able to get this while still having an active discount from the promo back in November?

  • Worked for me on 1/4 lines. Generated pin yesterday, today went back to number transfer screen and saw offer for $20 off per month for 1 of my lines. Not bad!

    • Update: went to my jetpack line and it also had the offer, clicked redeem and got a message at the top that said $10/off applied to all lines!

  • Mine activated for for my line and one other line on my plan within a couple hours. It seems the account managers needed to individually do it themselves to be targeted, because each other line that tried was targeted right after.

  • Followed directions and got a pop-up offer for $20 off/month. Hit 'Redeem', and got a confirmation pop-up reflecting a $10 off/month discount. Better than nothing, I guess!

  • I received a pop-up showing the offer after requesting the number transfer PIN. I opened the chat and asked an agent about it, and they were able to apply it to my account without any problems.
