Scan & Go let me combine 4 gift cards for one in-store purchase. Using Walmart Pay, I've always been limited to 1 gift card + credit card. I'll have to test whether this feature is Scan & Go exclusive or was enabled along with the app's recent visual refresh.
Walmart App displayed I had to be Walmart+ to use feature?
Yes, you need to be a WM+ member.
Is Scan and Go same as using Walmart Pay at SCO?
BTW You need to spend more than $15 using mobile Scan & Go. Received an email
No. Using the WM app to pay at SCO is diff...With Scan and Go, when you see an item that you want, you scan it w your phone app. When you've scanned all items, you go to checkout. I think someone mentioned there's a special lane for this. But, you pay there.
Using the scan on the one app, will that trigger The deal?
IDK. I don't have the One app or card. But, the One card appears to have a promo. My wm app sent me a push notification to get $10 off when selecting the One card on PayPal.
The last two times I've used Walmart Scan and Go, there is a special lane for this and Spark (which I think is Walmart's Instacart-like delivery team) One store blocked the Scan and Go activation QR code with a taped piece of paper (very amateur) and asked if I was using Scan and Go and looked at my app to confirm. After I showed her, she allowed me to proceed. Another store had an orange cone blocking this lane, but the registers were clearly open and located next to the regular self-checkouts. I guess this was their attempt to keep out the poors, I mean non Scan and Go or Spark users from the lanes.
Can we do this from couch? I don't really go to Walmart.
Not at Walmart because you have to on their wifi. But you can do this with Sam's with location spoofing.
I occasionally order food from their cafe from the app while still 15 mins away from the store. Sam's requires you to be in the store to order food (and to use scan&go), but doesn't need an in-store wifi connection.
not sure if serious dot gif
I recently decided to give Scan & Go a try when the SCO line was long at my 'nice' Walmart (i.e. not a sketchy/shop-lifty Walmart in the bad urban parts of town).
It was quite disappointing.
To start, I had to navigate several app pop-ups forcing me to allow precise location access to the Walmart app. Then after getting over into 'store mode', and after scanning all my items in my cart, before I could proceed to the checkout page it forced me to connect to the Walmart store WiFi to verify, again, that I'm a legitimate customer that is really there at the store trying to buy stuff. After connecting to the WiFi, I go back and all my added items were gone! Had to scan them in again from scratch.
The worst part, though, was that at the checkout page it actually doesn't let you just pay on the app and be on your way like how it works at Sam's Club. Instead, it tells you that you have to go to a SCO kiosk and scan your QR code and then finally pay via Walmart Pay. Which negates the entire premise that I don't have to wait in the long line.
And, even after that, you STILL need to wait for an attendant to come over and log in and verify the purchase on their tablet matches what you have in your cart. Even though that's supposed to be the job of the guy by the door that checks your receipt.
Not worth $5, in my opinion.
Maybe your Walmart is different, but Scan and Go has saved me so much time. The line for self checkout is usually quite long, but the Walmart stores around here dedicate one self checkout station just for Scan and Go, and it’s almost never being used, so I just walk past the entire line, scan the QR code, and walk out.
One time, I walked past the long line only to find that the dedicated Scan and Go station was closed. I asked the attendant why the station was closed, and she scanned her badge to open it for me, I scanned the QR code, and walked out.
I’m sure I get dirty looks for “cutting the line” though, but it’s their loss if they don’t want to use Scan and Go.
I've found that Scan and Go / Spark lanes appear may to be closed to redirect non Scan and Go customers way. But yes it's saved me a lot of time as well and it's pretty much the only way I'll ever shop at Walmart on the occasion I have to get something in store.
I used it about a year ago. Unless they've changed the process, it's a waste of time that I wouldn't use again. I thought that you would just scan items throughout the store, pay on your phone from anywhere in the store, then leave. No. You still have to go to the register to actually pay.
What made me nervous is that you have to click something acknowledging that you scanned everything. 😨 I...think that I did? I ended up counting my items just to be on the safe side. LOL. Scanning each item on your phone takes more time than just throwing items in your cart/bag and scanning them at the register.
I didn't get it.
I assume this offer is targeted at individuals who don't regularly use the Scan & Go feature. I do though.
I didn't get it either and I've never used the Scan & Go feature, lol
