Our Verdict

Liberty mutual does not do a hard pull on your credit for any of these quotes as far as I know, their prices on insurance seem to be excessively expensive compared to the competition but you don’t need to make a purchase so you might as well complete these quick offers.

They offered a similar promotion in early June where you received a $10 eBay gift card for requesting an auto or home insurance quote (now expired), this is a better deal as you can get $18 cash for doing both of these. Last time the eBay gift codes were sent quickly, so I suspect that this money will also become payable quite quickly with Top Cash Back as well.

  • Chuck said he previously got a confirmation from TBC within 7 hours. I did one of the deals last night so after 24 hours I have yet to receive a confirmation.

    I checked TCB to see that the offers aren't available anymore. I'll wait at least another 24 hours and see what happens.

  • I did the eBay deal and did this deal too. It does not affect credit (clear in the terms). I got the $8 confirmation from TCB about 7 hours after doing the deal.

    @Eric, you may have gotten the ebay gift card without noticing it. It's hidden in the Liberty insurance detail email.

    Use a throw-away google voice number.

    • I definitely didn't receive the Ebay gc as I checked that email several times. What really annoyed me was that they had the same canned response every time I emailed them to inquire about it. Any opportunity I have to make money off a crappy company like Liberty I'm interested. Did you do the other quotes too or only Auto for this promo?

  • I did a quote for the Ebay gc (I never received it) a couple of weeks ago. Is it okay to get another quote with Liberty again so soon with this offer?
