Numerous retailers have lowered the prices on the newest 3rd generation Apple Airpods to $139.99. These sell on Apple for $179, and have never fallen below $149.99 before. (affiliate links below)
The Amazon deal can also stack nicely with the Shop With Points deals to bring the cost down significantly.
(Some of the other Airpods versions are on sale as well, though at one point we saw better prices on those.)

Costco also has AppleCare+ for $23 instead of the usual $29 (online and in-store), so if you’re planning on getting that they’re the best option.

Airpods seem like the shoddiest product Apple sells. It's disappointing considering the typically superior build quality of their other products. I'll stick with my reliable, maintenance-free wired headphones from over a decade ago - even if I need to use those stupid 3.5 mm adapters.
