American Express has added a meter to track the spend toward your signup bonus spend requirement. It can be found on the website in the Membership Rewards points dashboard and on the AmEx app on the welcome page, above the Rewards section. You can also try going to Overview > Welcome Offer to find it.
This is only on Membership Rewards and cashback cards, nothing yet for AmEx cobranded cards. It also might be in the rollout stage and won’t necessarily show for everyone.

It was there for a single log in session either late yesterday or first thing this morning, I don't remember. It hasn't been there since. Biz Gold for reference.
It's not on my BCP page, an upgraded card ($1000->$150) not a new app if that matters.
