Our Verdict

Previous best bonus was 100,000 points, so this is an extra 25,000 points on card anniversary plus you get the elite status. There was an offer for a $700 statement credit that was targeted, but that did require a larger spend requirement of $15,000. I suspect it will be very easy to get and earn elite status at most chains next year due to COVID-19. This can be a good offer for some people, but just keep in mind the massive annual fee. I’d make sure you have a good plan for the Marriott points and resort credit before signing up. I think a lot of people will prefer the Boundless five free night offer if eligible for that. We will add this to our best credit card bonus post. There is also an increased offer on the Marriott business card from American Express.

  • I haven't received the 25,000 anniversary points for this yet. My card anniversary was on 10/16. Is this another benefit that posts 8-12 weeks after the renewal date, similar to the free night? Or is it time to contact Amex?

    • Noticed I never followed up on this. I received the 25K anniversary points on 12/4/21.

  • @will @chucksithe Public offer increased to 125,000 pts with $5,000 spend and a $200 restaurant credit.

  • Anyone else not see Platinum Elite status in their Marriott account this morning? Called both Amex and Marriott and each are saying its the other's problem

  • Aw sh*t I forgot this was today. I finally got everything ready to apply for it too. Guess I'll have to find something else ASAP

  • Got the pop-up saying due to "introductory offers, balance transfers, cards open/closed, etc" I wasn't eligible for the offer. I'm at 4/24, with 3 credit cards and 2 charge cards over the past 5 years with Amex. I'm an authorized user on my wife's Amex Bonvoy Brilliant card (shouldn't matter). Not sure why I can't get the card...oh well

    • How heavily do you use your current AMEX cards? They tend to be stingy with handing out new SUBs if you aren't generating much revenue for them. Their assumption is that you probably just want the SUB and benefits and probably won't use the card much after hitting the minimum spend.

    • yes, there is discontinued version still available for downgrade *($95 or 125$ AF). P1 downgraded few month ago.

  • has anyone's status posted to the website? Mine still shows as silver. Applied and was approved in late November I think.
