Our Verdict
These are both best-ever offers. A lot of people will find these interesting for the signup bonus and benefits, despite the high annual fees.
Use a friend’s referral link to apply so that they’ll get some free points as well. Check out these Things To Know About Amex before applying. We’ll add this to our list of Best Current Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

looks like both expired??
P2 instant approval for Bevy on 5/12. Wanted to do this first to preserve opportunity for business and brilliant SUBs in future. P2 is not eligible for CSP for another year and has done a couple Ink SUBs last year as well.
Marriott lets you xfer up to 100k points per CY now, this seems like an improvement.
I applied for the Brilliant card, got instant denial, and also failed to get reconsideration. The CSR told me that no new account could be opened at this time, the decision was final and my application could not be reconsidered based on my previous application-cancellation behaviors. Did anyone get similar situation?
I actually upgraded Marriott Bonvey card to the Bevy card in 2023, got an upgrade bonus and then downgraded it back to the $95-annual-fee edition after 1 year; I also applied for the Hilton business card in 2023, got the welcome bonus and canceled it after 1 year. I don't know if these two cards lead to my recent failure. But I do want to know, if this is the case, may I still get new American Express card in the future? How soon should I wait?
did a referral app. link didnt work. went to incognito. link worked but got PUJ message. Did the trick, and app went through, no popup. waiting for results.
hey cameron, what's the trick if you don't mind sharing, thanks!
Can I assume that since this is Amex, the Brilliant PP doesn't include restaurants? Or is that specific to the plat PP?
Yes, there's a page at TPG that lists the cards as of about a year ago that included Priority Pass (PP) with restaurants, and it's 6 cards, 3 of which were Chase cards where it says that the restaurants feature was ending on June 30 of last year, and thus at most 3 of those cards listed still have that feature.
And that page also says that Amex dropped restaurants from Amex's version of Priority Pass much earlier, I think around 2019.
Pop-up jail for both - was actually willing to burn a 5/24 slot on the Brilliant, but I guess Amex is saving me from a rash decision...
Currently 3/24, most recently applied for Chase United Business (February 2025, denied), then Bonvoy Business (October 2024, approved). Admittedly, I'm not spending a lot on my Amex cards since getting the Bonvoy Biz bonus.
I'll start putting some spend on those cards, lower my credit limits across the board, and try again before the deadline.
Just applied and got received the Pop Up Jail notification. I currently spend several thousand a month on my gold card so it's probably not for lack of activity. Try again in a month?
Is the Gold card the only Amex card you currently have?
Because if not, you may have to put some spend on your other current Amex cards to have a better chance of getting out of Pop Up Jail.
Amex doesn't like people "sock drawering" cards.
Thanks for the post.
I know it's almost certainly unrealistic, but something in me really likes the idea of slowly, passively grinding out lifetime platinum despite not being a business traveler
The best things in life are earned!
hahahahaahha
With the recent points devaluation the sign up bonus is less attractive. Ive had held card for a year and use it for the free night up to 85k (which is still valuable to a certain extent because you can top off to 100k). Im waiting another year to get a chase / ritz card
Less attractive indeed. These SUBs are as exciting as Sheldon.
