#AmexHotelStorm: HotelStorm, Spend $200+ & Receive $50 Statement Credit

The Offer

  • Get $50 statement credit each time you use your connected Card to make a single purchase of $200 or more online at hotelstorm.com/amex by 10/12/2017

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid online only at hotelstorm.com/amex.
  • Transactions must be charged in USD to qualify.

Our Verdict

They previously offered a $75 back on $300+ discount. This is the same % (25) discount, with a lower minimum booking required. They also offer 20% cash back when you go through a portal, but that can’t be stacked. ou also won’t receive any hotel loyalty benefits if you book through a third party site such as HotelStorm or earn any elite night credits – so this makes the most sense if you’re booking a room at a non chain property or you don’t care about status.

As always with any hotel deal, make sure you cross compare and include stacking discounts on other sites (as outlined here).

  • I received this offer on 5 amex cards. I need to book a 5 night stay at somewhere where it costs $200 per night. Do you think I could book each night separately with each card, and then call the hotel and ask them to piece all of the reservations together? Amex still redeems offers for multiple cards right (thought not officially)?

  • just tried and when i book through the hotelstorm.com/amex link, the cheapest options disappear.

  • Can this offer be used multiple times? There's definitely value to be had if you can break up at longer stay and take $100 off a stay of $400 +.

  • Maybe due to the link, my last comment is removed.

BeFrugal has clearly state: amex offer cannot be stacked with 20% off

but TCB doesn't say this statement, so can TCB's 15% stack with this amex offer?

    • Was just in moderation, showing up now. I imagine it wouldn't work, but if you try it and get a hard DP let us know.

      • I haven't check carefully for the stay I interested in. If this website is not overprice too much than other website, I will give it try and gave you a DP then.

  • There are lots of lower end hotels from the search even as low as $30 per night. (A motel of course like days inn).

      • Follow-up from my comment on 4/28.

Originally declined. Followed up with a lodge missing claim saying that T&C don't exclude Amex offer. It was approved, so I was able to double dip on Amex offer + TCB

        • Hi Nick. Did you finish the booking through TCB portal directly OR you changed the URL by redirecting to AMEX page? Could you let me know how you made it?

          • I went through TCB, saw that it said "Your click is tracked" then changed the link in the new tab to hotelstorm.com/amex, searched for my hotel and booked

I was surprised it tracked like that, but it did

      • Confirmed, did not receive cash back from Hotelstorm through TCB. Did use Amex offer of course. Not sure if it's worth disputing given TCB's terms don't say anything about the Amex offer

  • Signed up months ago for last offer on all my family's cards and checked their prices on many trips and could not find one where it made sense, even with 25% off. Their prices seem to be higher (and of course most other major OTAs offer 10-20% with discount codes plus stacking with portal savings) so even with the rebate it is not a very good deal, and they seem to not offer many of the lower priced hotels. Seems to be same interface/prices/maybe company as Pointshound. In other words the premium seems to be baked in to the price.
