Previously Chase would allow cardholders to product change between cards running on the Visa & Mastercard payment network. Sometime recently that changed and it’s no longer possible. Chase Freedom Flex is the main card that runs on the Mastercard network, with other cards running on the Visa network.

Does anyone have more info or a link describing the VISA card with the same rotating reward structure as Freedom Flex? I have not found anything online.
There's no such card. Freedom Flex has always been a Mastercard. The closest Visa card is the regular Freedom.
I was told this several times while trying to convert FU to FF. Finally after several tries I was told that I can switch to another card with the exact rewards structure as the FF yet it's still a visa card. I opted for the product change. We'll see how it goes. They say the change should take affect in 7-10 days.
Just checked my account just says chase freedom. However in the rewards section I just activated 5% quarterly cash back at gas stations and EV charging. Looks like all is well. No account number change either.
The regular Freedom also has 5% quarterly cashback. Are you seeing, e.g. 3% cashback on dining? If not, and if all you're seeing is "1% cash back on every purchase" then you have the regular Freedom not the Flex.
In that case it looks like you are correct. I have rotating categories, and 1% on everything else. Oh well, still better than the freedom unlimited in my opinion.
hmm. ok. keep us posted. im super skeptical. u prob got OG freedom.
Dear Jamie Dimon: I burst my pimples at you. Go and boil your bottom, you son of silly persons. xox tuphat
p.s. jk. call me?
Just PCd the freedom flex to the freedom (visa). Tried via secure message but had to call in
ditto. you have to product change. It's pretty easy on a call though.
Can I product change by secure message? I’m out of the country so don’t want to call.
Yes. I swapped my CSP to a Freedom Unlimited with a secure message.
No but it won’t hurt to try
I just today successfully PC'd from Freedom Unlimited to Freedom Flex.
I spoke too soon. I checked my account last night and my PC'd card was showing the Freedom Flex benefits, e.g. 3% cashback on dining. However I checked again this morning and the card was showing the regular Freedom benefits and the card image was regular Freedom. Called and was told that the PC was processed as Freedom not Freedom Flex but the rep said he could change it to Freedom Flex. However he said that the card would be Visa not Mastercard (similar to @guest_2123825's DP above). I just checked and the card benefits are still showing as regular Freedom so I'm skeptical that this is going to work but I'll update once I know for sure.
Closing the loop on this - my card never converted to Freedom Flex and stayed regular Freedom. I called and spoke to an account specialist and he said that Freedom Flex did not appear as a conversion option for the card. He noted that the Flex is a Mastercard and did not mention anything about a Visa Flex option (which others in this thread have alluded to and which a likely ill informed rep suggested to me might exist). So it appears that Freedom Flex is in fact no longer a PC option for Chase Visa cards.
Which flex? The Visa or MC one?
Flex is always/only MC
Is there an option to get a Visa Freedom Flex?
yes that's what I did a few days ago from the sapphire there's a Visa product a sister product to the freedom MasterCard. same thing though
I'm aware of the Visa (OG) Freedom. I'm wondering if there is a Visa Freedom Flex
It’s not exactly the same thing. The CFF has the extra categories that the CFU has (3x dining, drugstores; 5x Chase Travel), but the CF does not.
Goddammit, I was going to convert my Freedom Rise into a Freedom Flex after it graduates next year. OG Freedom for me I suppose.
Same for my P3's Student Freedom
Ohh… this might be the reason then, because around 2-3 weeks ago when I called in to upgrade my Freedom Flex to CSR, I got a “no, somehow I don’t see this option” answer from a Chase phone representative.
Was planning on downgrading CSP to Freedom Flex sometime next year, I guess this is not happening. Should be able to downgrade to the original Freedom, right?
Yes
Yes. The flex is a one-way street. The others are visa.
