Citizens Financial Group (Citizens Bank) is purchasing Investors Bancorp (Investors Bank) in a $3.5 billion deal. Under the deal Citizens would acquire $27 billion in assets and $20 billion in deposits. Previously HSBC announced that Citizens Bank would be acquiring some physical branches. Citizens Bank & Investors Bank both frequently offer bank account bonuses.

@will I just got the notification that investors will be cutting over to citizen's bank. I'm thinking maybe it's time to close my investors accounts. If not won't this interfere with the citizen's bank bonuses I get every 6 months?
What happens with people who have both HSBC and INvestors bank accounts, they just get merged?
No, HSBC has nothing to do with this. If you meant to write "Citizens" instead of "HSBC", we'll have to wait to find out what happens.
HSBC retail banking was sold to Citizens on the east coast....So yeah, HSBC accounts are getting merged to Citizens.
Shoot there goes my $25 / month
Will miss $25x2/month !!! hope, will get rest of the bonuses (may be 6-7 left) for the current cycle.
Well that's annoying. I guess I should just cancel my Investors account now as I don't want to lock myself out of the Citizens checking Savings bonus which are churnable and more lucrative than $25 a month.
I'm sure it's going to take a while to merge everything. Didn't BB&T and Suntrust take like 2 years?
I guess that will end my $25 per month bonus next year.
Shititors Bank
if I'm already a customer of Investor's bank... will I become a citizen of Citizen's bank?
did they approve to spend money to come up with a silly name like 'Truist' ?
Was there yesterday
