Direct link to offer

  • HSBC Mastercard BusinessCard Credit Card is offering a bonus of 50,000 points after $10,000 in spend within the first six months

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Earn 1.5 Points on each dollar spent – no categories to remember or enrollments to worry about.
    • Points are worth 2% Cash Back when redeemed into your HSBC Fusion Checking or Savings account.
    • Points can also be used towards Travel powered by Priceline, gift cards, merchandise and more.

Our Verdict

I assume this bonus is worth a maximum of $500, but if points are worth 1.33¢ when redeemed into a business checking account it’s possible that this bonus could be worth up to $665. Looks like you need to open this card in branch, there is also up to a $400 business checking bonus. This is a card worth considering if you have a HSBC branch near you, will be interesting to see what happens with this in branch stuff considering HSBC is exiting the retail market.

  • A data point: I have been approved after also opening a fusion biz checking account in May. Process took quite long as my relationship mgr did not seem to eager or urgent to get this moving for me. I had to supply 6 months of statement activity from any bank to prove I had assets for the underwriters

    • @guest_1220148 Thank you for sharing. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. In my case, the first relationship manager didn't even bother to call during the scheduled appointment. Left him a voicemail afterwards, no response. I did get a person to speak with me after I scheduled another one. I was hoping to do this one without having to open a business checking account.

I believe the Fusion First Business checking requires a $5k balance in order to waive the $30 monthly fee.

  • Received my card today. It was a ~8 week process that involved opening a business checking account (another $200 bonus available) and couple dozen emails back and forth with the relationship manager. $4k CL, now have to spend the $10k.

  • Wondering if anyone has successfully opened this? I just spoke to a banker in branch about my sole prop 15k a year, and he said the acceptance rate for business credit cards is less than 5%, and doesn't recommend me applying for one.

  • The "Remote Banking" button forwards to scheduling a 45 minute telephone appointment. Applicant business is located within a branch metro area.

    • Meaning, you followed through with this and the business needs to be located in the branch metro area?

  • 1) Does this report on your personal credit report?
    2) Can you fund bank accounts with this without being charged CA?
