  • No real surprise, they were leaning towards skyteam anyway. The independents each gradually join an alliance like Alaska and oneworld. This really should not surprise anyone as it costs them too much to do anything but pick a team.

  • lmao awesome /s

had a japan trip booked in 2020 using VS points on ANA J and obviously never happened due to covid. now i have 190k VS points sitting still for 3 years with no luck in rebooking a J flight the last year or so, and now the redemption is devalued...

wow sucks for so many in the same situation now. sweet spot for Japan is definitely decreased, and its still insanely difficult to even get J availability for 2 since they (Japan) still basically just recently reopened

    • there are many J since March. IAH, LAX, SFO, ORD are a few I saw easily this month alone during cherry blossom season FYI.

  • I've noticed the Delta One seats are starting to show weird prices than the previous 50-77k. Saw some going at 120-160k virgin... Starting to regret holding 200k Virgin peso points.

  • What’s with the bedbugs video? Doesn’t appear to be an ad, and showed up as the accompanying photo for the article on Twitter.

  • Doesn't Virgin charge obscene fuel surcharges, fees and taxes to their awards, similar to British Airways?

    • No, they pass it through from the carrier. ANA charges the fuel surcharge. If you book a seat on Delta it's the normal $5.60 fee only.

    • Yes, but a rt first class ticket on ANA at 110k miles + $750 was still a killer bargain. Even at the new rates, both business and first are great deals.
