• I didn't realize the offer was one per transaction and I bought 4 Starbucks gift cards in the same transaction. They all earned the 15X. Located in Seattle area.

  • I think unless it's a large amount it's really one bonus per transaction. Multiple cards on same purchase count as one but don't quote me on that. I was too chicken lol.

• I wish they let me redeem more than 10 at once. I have 29 points. Should be redeeming all of them in the next 30 days (10 tomorrow). Hmm $100 gets you 15 fuel points worth about $33 considering price vs Costco gas. That's a a hell of a return especially because I can get 4.5% credit card points at Safeway. Argh.

  • Why does $100 yield 15 rewards? Safeway's site notes that gift cards earn 2 points per $1. Thus $100 would normally earn 200 points = 2 rewards. With 15x this should be 30 rewards?

      • Correct. Just bought a gift card for restaurant we had already we had planned on for next week. They also had 2 extra points with $50 of food. Up to 40 fuel points. Time to start using them.

        I did Black Angus Steakhouse. If you dont get points call the number on the receipt. They fixed Amazon and the 2 extra points for me today. Long hold though. Request a call back.

• I need to go into a Safeway to confirm if this even exists or is possible, but I wonder if there are Uber Eats giftcards out there and whether or not they would count as dining. You could then load onto your account and use as regular Uber credit, which would be an awesome rate of return if you maximize the use of your safeway rewards + using a high earning card for grocery purchase. I seem to recall seeing both Uber and UberEats GCs somewhere recently but I'm not positive

  • Super interesting theory! Based off of the pictures of the rack I have in one Safeway in Nor Cal, they only have uber and not uber eats gift cards, but that definitely could vary by store.

• Their grocery rewards are pretty generous, should be able to easily get 20-25% after credit card rewards. Also nice that it is 1x per transition instead of a one and done. Anyone know if Starbucks and Dunkin are considered dining? TIA

  • Based on my prior purchases you should be fine with any of the fast food outlets. I even buy McDonald's gift cards there now for my coffee break. TIP: If you start buying restaurant gift cards at the Kroger family of stores you should soon start receiving 200 bonus fuel point offers for many choices. My last 2 or 3 Subway and Olive Garden GC purchases included this bonus in addition to the usual 2X or sometimes 4X points.

    • But you could normally buy those same restaurant gift cards for a much greater discount at raise or one of the other gift card websites. So unless the restaurant only has physical gift cards, you’d be better off saving 10+% at Raise. 200 bonus fuel points doesn’t compensate for the discrepancy in savings.

• I tried to redeem the $10 off $100+ mcgc yesterday with a $500 mcgc and it would not come off my just 4u... so they had to manually credit $10 off my total and it's still on my app to use again.

  • The store honored its obligation to you. It is a one-time offer. Why would you feel you’re entitled to use the offer sgain?

  • I've had that happen. You can use it again, I usually go to a different location though to avoid the same manager.

  • It doesn't get the 2 points normally so I would guess no.

    • @guest_842990 The reason I wonder is there was a somewhat similar Safeway deal in November 2017 that did work on Everywhere cards. (Tried to post a comment with links, but it went to moderation.)

      But, of course, things likely changed in two years.
