Our Verdict

Remember to save the offer first to your card before use. You won’t get fuel points on Visa/MC gift cards. Make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases. This version of the offer does work on the variable cards.

  • Used this offer, but it keeps on showing in the app. I was thinking there was limit of 1. Anyone tried buying more one gift card.

    • It'll go away from your list tomorrow - there is a delay. I doubt it will work 2nd time today, but you might try.

  • Has this expired? I got it last week on my safeway app, then today tried to sign up my P2 for the first time on browser to get the deal again and we can't see it.

    • @guest_828217 For these offers on Just4U, you need to add them at least a week before expiration or else they disappear.

  • For the variable mastercard gc, is the purchase fee fixed? If I purchase the maximum one($500), would the purchase fee still be $5.95?

  • Astonishing to me that they keep running these deals. Between this deal and Staples, you can pretty much travel for free all year with the right credit cards (assuming you don't need first class and 5 star-hotels all the time). Of course, you do need a way to get rid of the gift cards, and it can be a PITA

    • You should be able to, unless the store insists on seeing the physical card to compare to your ID. But there's no technical reason why it wouldn't work.

  • Did not seem to work on variable MCGC at Vons in San Diego. The cashier had to apply generic $10 off discount code manually.

Edit: also another discount code for chips did get applied automatically so it wasn’t an issue with account.

    • FWIW, as a PSA for next time. I run into the same issue and it turned out that the offer did not auto-apply for the black "celebrate" MCGC, but for the pink-ish MCGC.

In total it failed 3-times on the black one: one time the manager manually overrode, one time the manager didn't want to come down, one time they tried another one (the pink-ish) packaging. After learning that, I successfully bought 4x in the pink-ish packaging without any issues.
