Our Verdict
Doesn’t look like you actually need to let anybody rent your space to get the Swagbucks and you can set it to approval only (e.g you have to approve any rentals first). Some people won’t be comfortable listing it for $35, others will be. Up to you to decide.

Anyone complete the $600 referral bonus offer from December, then not get paid out? I had a legitimate rental but they say they won't pay the $300 per party ($600 total) because my renter only stayed 1 month. There was no language in their terms about this (just that it needed to net $200) ugh incredibly annoying.

For anyone curious about actually using the service, I've been doing it on and off for about 3 years now. We have extra garage space that we rent out. Garage space is a pain because you get constant floods of people asking if they can park their car there despite you delineating the sq footage and there being no way a car can fit in there. In general it's a hassle to get a renter but once it's there you don't really have to think about it (Most i've had is somebody who needs to check something in there stuff maybe once every 6 weeks) so in that aspect it's pretty nice. However, rates are low (at least where I live) and the longest renter we've had in 6 months. Overall, doesn't really feel worth the effort. We mostly do it because we like helping other people out.
what about people hiding dead bodies and drugs, etc?

I do not recall seeing a place to enter a referral code after following the SB link, so I do not know.
Not sure if they just snuck in the language after your post, but it says (for me): "Note- Any credit will be awarded only upon someone renting out your space for the first time."

expect a clawback if you don't meet this term. SB did something similar with one of the mafia offers that credited after spending $1. basically, they may say "oops it wasn't supposed to credit so we're taking those points back."

The /r/swagbucks post says that that doesn't matter. I signed up a few minutes ago. Need to wait about an hour before it goes pending according to them
