Our Verdict

A lot of readers have Aspiration accounts from the $100+ checking bonus. This is a nice spending offer, shame the max is so low but hard to complain.

  • How long does Aspiration take for the debit card transactions to settle? It seems to take forever as it still shows pending for 3 days now.

  • I got the same but I have only about $50 on my account and bank transfers cannot make it before long weekend ends. Sigh

  • received an email tonight for a 10% cashback deal on up to $500 in purchases, but it's only good for labor day weekend. @will

    • Got it too. Only have $125 in account. Lol. Wondering if mobile deposit will clear same or next day to take advantage of this promotion upto maximum.

      • @guest_1049055 @guest_1049071 i was scrambling to add cash fast, too bc i had a few bucks in the acct. you can try using zelle. i used google pay. funds were available immediately.

          • you have to add the card directly to the zelle app. i tried adding the card to zelle yesterday, but couldn't---but that's bc they only allow you to switch cards so many times. there's a chance you can't add them since some banks aren't compatible, but worth a shot.

    • same here. For this Labor Day weekend only. (need to spend at least $50 this weekend and use your card at least 10 times through the end of September)

  • I think that first paragraph (and anywhere else) should read "through" September" instead of "until" September. It says the offer is good through September 30. I was gearing up, thinking I had read it was through all of Sept,, then read "until", and was crushed! Read further and the date says up until Sept 30. Saying "until" Sept. would have it invalid on Sept. 1 as I read it. Could you correct?

  • If you weren't originally targeted, keep an eye out because my email offering this just came (3 days after this post).

Also, now I'm bummed about the higher Aspiration Plus rate. I have Arcadia and was meaning to sign up and wish I did it sooner. It would have been nice to be grandfathered at the lower rate (at least I hope you guys that signed up previously are indeed grandfathered and keep your old rate).

Also, to the people wondering about the bonus, mine posted the first day of the month after my spending deadline was over. I opened the account in May, my spending deadline was July, and I got my bonus August 1. If you signed up in June, that's why you don't have your bonus yet.

  • You guys really pay for Aspiration Plus? Sounds like a terrible deal. Aspiration used to be good but went downhill so I closed my account about a year ago.

    • I subscribed to Causebox and use Arcadia to pay for my electronic bill so sometimes it's worthy for me.
