This card is pretty sweet for their targeted spend offers, this offer might even be available for all cardholders. Assuming a 5/6 redemption rate (you can get $50 Paypal for 6,000 points) it’s basically 4.17% back in those categories.

I activated shopping on this offer but I was planning a max spend of $500 to earn 2500 points.
IME with previous offers I fulfilled, beyond the maximum pts offered, I earned just 1 pt for extra $ spent so I don't usually put charge on the card for more than the threshold amount. The bonus pts posted to my account two statements later.

None of the math you listed makes much sense. Wouldn't it be spend $500, get 2500 points? That would be worth $20.83, or 4.17 cpp
