(YMMV) T-Mobile $70+ Retention Credit For Remaining With the Carrier

Via SD, T-Mobile is offering many people $10 monthly credits for 7 months as a retention offer for remaining with the carrier. Others are getting $20 + $20 credits or possibly other amounts.

If you were considering switching from T-Mobile this is an easy opportunity to give them another chance and try it for another few months while the discounts roll in. T-Mobile chat apparently works for this.

    • Same. But I decided not to chat because I’m going to wait for my next-next bill since that’ll be a FULL billing cycle. Please report back what they tell you.

  • Inquired with online chat. As expected, didn't get anything as I'm on prepaid (the old Walmart plan) but TMO kept trying to upsell me to postpaid with free devices, etc. Congrats to those who scored plan discounts.

  • Used the T-Life chat, got a $20 immediate discount and $20 per month for the next 12 months. I did not bother asking for more as this seems to be a ceiling based on other comments.

  • Used chat feature in T-Life. 1 line. First offered $10 discount per month. I asked for more and got $20 instant credit + $20 off for 12 months.

  • 4 lines, they switched me to a (non-advertised) plan that resulted in $20/mo less AND offered $10 / mo x 6 mo retention. I asked for 12 mo retention but they said call back in 6 mo. Took about 15 min of my time. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Got offered a one-time $80 credit plus 6 $10 monthly credits for a total of $140. Thanks Doc!

  • Called in today with 7 lines and 2 watches. Was offered $80 credit for 6 months and accepted. Rep mentioned I could call back once iPhone 17 is released and likely receive an even better offer.

  • DP: Called via phone today. Have 8 lines on our TMo plan. Was offered an instant $20 credit plus $20/mo for the next 12 months. Accepted.

    • Jealous. I have 7 lines and was offered $10 + $10/mo for 6 mos. I mistakenly gave a specific competitors price so he "convinced me" that it was actually more per his math when you factor everything in.

    • Ditto, got the same thing. I have four lines, grandfathered into Simple Choice plan. $20 instant credit and $20 off for 12 months.

  • Used the TMO app and got 70 in bill credits.

DP - I have a single choice plan 1 line with a phone being financed.

I might have been able to get more but I still consider it a good deal for 15 minutes work.

  • I read in SD that some got more than $10 but I was only offered $10 instantly and $10 over the next 6 months. Didn't push them and just took it. Not bad for about 5 mins of my time.
