American Express Increases Bonuses On Delta Cards

The Offer

  • American Express has increased the bonuses on Delta cards. Bonuses are as follows:
    • Personal Delta Gold: 50,000 miles after $2,000 in spend (annual fee waived first year)
    • Personal Platinum: 60,000 miles + 5,000 MQM after $3,000 in spend
    • Business Delta Gold: 60,000 miles after $3,000 in spend (annual fee waived first year)
    • Business Platinum: 70,000 miles + 5,000 MQM after $4,000 in spend

Our Verdict

We’ve seen higher offers on all of these cards in the past, often they come with a $50 or $100 statement credit as well. Last October there was increased offers for example. Personally think everybody should just wait for a bigger bonus to return on all of these cards especially considering you’re limited to getting one bonus per lifetime with American Express. We won’t be adding these to the best credit card bonus page.

  • Personal Delta Gold Amex offer via Dummy Booking on Delta.com: $200 Statement credit after making a Delta purchase + 40k Miles after 2k spend in first 3 months, 1st year AF waived.

    • Speaking of the Blue card, isn’t it interesting that there isn’t a no-fee business version? For instance, when I had the business platinum delta card, it was either cancel it or keep it, no downgrade to no-fee as with the personal cards.

    • Only love after you downgrade from all the other cards... then you end up with 3-4 of them!

And by “love” I don’t mean any SUB or additional benefits, I mean: welcome to the sock drawer.

    • Yup - P2 also got this - wondering if we should take it - what are 60k SkyPesos worth at this point...though its odd, I tried to get her a AMEX Gold via 30k referral and she got a pop-up error

      Maybe I should try again

    • Seriously, can’t all Amex cards be like the Hilton and Blue Cash family of cards? Each of those upgrades produced hundreds of dollars in bonuses.

  • FWIW, I'm seeing these higher offers through P2's referrals now too. A chunk of MR might sweeten the deal for anyone thinking about applying.
