Citibank Rolls Out Citigold Client Center in Manhattan + Free Dessert

Citi Client Center

We reported that Citi was planning on opening a Client Center in Manhattan as a lounge area for Citigold clients. Many of us are Citigold clients, and I just got an email telling about the rollout; I assume everyone got the same email.

The center is located on 5th and 52nd and is reportedly open 9-6. Many Flyertalk members have visited already and it sounds like it’s pretty inactive so far – mostly just Citi employees, but I say to give them a chance as they roll get clients used to the fact that the lounge is there for them.

  • Charge your devices
  • Relax with a cup of coffee
  • Special events and functions
  • Reports indicate that there are often good refreshments there too

Free Dessert

One side benefit they are promoting is free dessert. Not at the lounge itself – at participating restaurants in Manhattan. Sounds interesting.

But they won’t give you the details of how to get the free dessert without coming into the Center to find out in person. We speculated in the previous post that they want to bring us in to be able to talk to us and try to get more of your money in with Citi. If the lounge won’t get us in there, maybe the dessert offer will…

Update

A reader commented with the direct link for the free dessert offer.

Direct Link

At that link you can find a list of 16 NYC restaurants which are participating in this free dessert offer. It also tells you exactly which dessert to expect at each restaurant.

The devil is in the details, however. It seems that you only get the free dessert if you buy a main course at the restaurant. Each restaurant has exact details of what you have to buy in order to be eligible.

The email I received (above) seems misleading to me, but that’s what the fine print indicates. Boo! But they have been offering refreshments at the Client Center itself from what I’ve read, so if you just want the dessert try going there.

Other Details

  • Offer ends December 31, 2015
  • Must obtain passcode and bring it into the restaurant
  • Must bring along a Citi debit or credit card
