Reader JD asks:
Hey doc, do you know how long will the CSR 100k promo last? Is it gonna be the standard signup bonus like CSP 50k?
We do have a small bit of information on that.
At the top of a memo with details on the Sapphire Reserve card and its 100,000 point bonus, Chase is telling their bankers the following:
You can confidently extend an offer without worrying that your customer might receive a more attractive Chase Sapphire Reserve offer elsewhere. Your customers will always get the best available Chase Sapphire Reserve offer in the branch.
Please note that the online offer may vary.
They indicate that the online offer might change at some point, but there’s a guarantee that the branch offer will always be the best. It also sounds like the branch offer will remain steady at 100k since the flyer (not shown in the picture) has the 100k offer details and has the above note written on top. Sounds like only the online 100k might change, but the branch offer will remain steady at 100k.
[There is also a rumor that the 100k offer will end after September. If true, it’s likely the branch offer will remain indefinitely.]
We find similarly with other Chase cards like Sapphire Preferred and INK, that in-branch offers are often better than the online offers.
Many of us want to apply in-branch anyway for the added chance of getting a pre-approval, and hopefully the 100k offer will be around for a while in-branch.
It could make sense stopping yourself for a small while from new card applications if you are close to getting away from 5/24 so as to be eligible for the Sapphire Reserve. As noted, it will hopefully be available with 100k bonus in-branch for the long haul.
No guarantees, of course.

hi
i applied and was denied becouse of to short time of credit history.
i have a credit history of 1 year. how long of history is needed for getting approved?
Try finding someone close to add you as an authorized user to their card/s that has been open more than 3-4 years. Prederable not someone that holds balance on that CC nor late paymets. Also try digging here to find which CC copy the history from the beginning, there has been a post here for that. Ex. Discover Yes, Amex No.
There isn't a single answer to that question; it's not a hard figure. The longer favorable credit history the better.
I just got the pre-approval for Reserve in branch and applied in branch too. The banker had to call the lending department for application review as he didn’t get the decision instantly.
The banker said its because of the backlog of so many Sapphire Reserve applications. It is taking about 2 weeks for the lending dept to process these apps.
Are others facing the same issue too? I think I’m over the 5/24 limit. Is anyone getting instant decisions in branch?
5/24 is up for me at the end of December. At the present moment I am at EXACTLY 5/24. I live where there are no chase branches, however I do stay at a hotel on business very regularly (almost weekly) that is next door to one. I believe I am opted out of the preapprovals through a fraud alert I had put on last year. So is it worth trying to apply in branch and is it possible to be approved if this app puts me at 6/24? If so, how does this work? Do I stroll into a branch and ask them if I am preapproved for any offers and hope the reserve is one of them or will they even be able to check since I have the fraud alert put on?

If my home address and all my mail still gets delivered to my parents house, can I have one of my parents apply for the CSR and transfer the 100k UR points to my account once the minimum spend is met? It is my understanding that you can transfer UR to household members. Would that be alright on this scenario?
I'm past 5/24 a dim trying to think of a way to take advantage of this offer.
I have two questions:
1. Are we aware of any way to meet the $300 Travel category by purchasing something liquid that can be resold (gift card or sth.)
2. I am exactly at 4/24 right now. Have an invitation code for pre-approved offer by mail for CSP, valid till Oct 3. How to get both CSP and CSR? Apply now for the CSR and then just before Oct 3 for CSP? Perhaps because the CSP is preapproved, Chase would disregard the 5/24?
TIA
1) Airline gift card will probably work.
2) Yes, that sounds like a good plan.
Thx for you answers! Airline gift cards purchased where/how? Online, directly from the airline?
Perhaps just found the answer to my question:
https://giftcards.aa.com/terms.jsp
Hopefully that will code as Travel.
FYI, United does not sell GC.

Hi, Doc, I was approved for Sapphire Reserve in the branch, but i also realized that Chase gave me 2 hard pulls, one from TU and one from Exp. Is there anything i can do to ask them to remove one. Thanks.
Not really, sometimes they will rarely pull a second bureau.
Nothing to do. They sometimes double-pull.
As a data point - I applied/instant approve on Monday and the card was delivered on Wednesday via UPS. I did not ask for it to be expedited.
Thanks for answering my question, Chuck!
Can anyone confirm with Chase Sapphire cards (I want to try this on the new Reserve card) to obtain the $300 travel credit, can I buy $300 of an airline giftcard? Thanks!
Anything that codes as travel should work (including gift cards): https://www.doctorofcredit.com/300-chase-sapphire-reserve-travel-credit-work-triggers/
I was at chase branch today to find out if I was pre approved. I was not, but banker told me that 100K bonus is standard bonus on this card and it will stay the same.
Fingers crossed!
