  • Simon doesnt carry $1000 cards now. Only $500. Are they stupid? Who wants their $500 cards.

Are they doing a bait and switch?

  • Article about USBank shutdown is garbage. Author is playing the victim card when he was in fact manufacture spending.

It's been widely known that USBank shuts accounts down for such activities (e.g. USBank Altitude Reserve shutdowns).

Please don't promote pointless articles like this.

      • It's just a bit of "click bait" with the article title. I just let a few of those slide as all websites need clicks to survive.

        • @guest_912535 Try to get your crap news from another source. All this did was get MtM another source of ad revenue for a clickbait article. These roundups should be filtered to ones worth reading. They usually are. This one, unfortunately, was a giant miss.

          • While the article itself provided no real info, I have to admit that the comments about that site has had some value so all is not lost. Maybe I am just trying to look at the glass as half full??

  • Pretty lame USB shutdown DP. MSing full credit limit from a sensitive bank and expects the cards to be alive?

    • I wish banks would just state in their terms that Manufactured Spending is not allowed. Just stating that gift cards don't earn rewards (which is difficult for them to enforce) isn't the same thing.

    • can’t believe i read that whole article and he never fesses up to what he did. that’s why i prefer a site like DoC.

      • From the comment section on his article, he eventually fessed up, despite playing coy on other comments. He says:

"I regularly buy gift cards. I also frequently visit WMMC."

If I were a regular reader of his, I'd auto-unsubscribe immediately. I'm not going to line your pockets with clicks if you're going to assume I'm an idiot.

      • Love how all the comments were calling him out for MS'ing. I mean what a worthless article. Don't be weird about it, just say what your doing!

    • He was clearly MS'ing, probably buying obvious places like Simon. Anyone with a brain knows not to MS USB. And then trying to play the victim by not revealing what the "actual" reason he got shut down is, when we all know exactly what the reason was.

      • I read the headline and thought the entire bank had literally been shut down. "Account shut-downs" is probably more appropriate.

    • Yeah, he was straight up MSing. Only surprise is it took that long for them to shut him down.

Anyone who values their relationship with US Bank- don't buy gift cards using their credit cards. It's literally that simple.

  • In other news, HSBC to shed 35k jobs (and possibly more) in the next 3 yrs. Given how terri-bad their approval process for business checking account is, I'm not surprised.
