  • Earn a total of 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in purchases at restaurants from March 1st through May 31st, 2018

Our Verdict

Seems like most if not all Chase Amazon cardholders got this e-mail. 5% cash back at restaurants is as good as it gets, usually the best long term option is the Barclaycard Uber card offering 4% cash back. This card recently added 5% on Whole Foods purchases, shame this restaurant 5% isn’t being added permanently.

  • Tried the link yesterday, ... sorry not eligible. Get email today ... "Because you're a valued cardmember, you'll automatically earn a total of 5% Back on up to $1,500 in purchases at restaurants from March 1 through May 31, 2018."
Good luck to those still waiting.

  • I tried the link but was unsuccessful :( I tried calling Chase to see if I could be part of the promotion but the overseas people basically said no :( I've never been targeted for any of the offers on this card.

  • Congratulations to Chase! After at least a year and a half of not using the card even once, I will be using this card again with this promotion!

  • nobody should really care about this. if this was perm change then thats really good. otherwise, meh. this is not UR dude.

      • it all depends on what ur after. 5% CB can be good for anyone who only focuses on CB and doesnt give a shit about travel. thats fine. but thats a pretty limited view if u play this game. i would rather have 3x UR over 5% CB. or buy a GC at 5x+ UR. use MPX even. i would also go for USB Flex Gold at 3x for 1.5 cpp fixed. so many options.

          • It is actually 3x flexperks which are rated at 1.5 cents per point. I have USB Gold and Black flexperks. I am so glad to be able to stop using my Gold for restaurants now! .5% extra with this perk on my Amazon card. And I'll be going Altitude Reserve (if Freedom stops mobile 5%) so I am really wanting to leave my USB Gold behind (ew $89 fee).

          • Not sure about Flexperks, but I’d definitely put 3% UR above 5% CB. Big question is whether CSR annual fee after travel credit, etc is worth the difference of value. Man, I sure hope I’ll have this option sometime soon! I miss my Citi Forward card a lot!

  • Didn't get any email and I get a message of "We can’t enroll you with the information you provided" when I fill out the online form. :(

  • Whew, 5% on restaurants and Amazon, feels like the Citi Forward card was ressurrected.

Given the heavy push to promote I feel like it's only a matter of time until you see a much increased signup bonus in Whole Foods.
