Our Verdict

I imagine that a lot of readers will have KeyBank accounts that are sitting mostly dormant given that they currently offering a $200 checking bonus, which is one of the few bank bonuses we actually recommend you to sign up for. Fingers crossed that a lot of you in this situation also receive this targeted offer. Let me know if you did or didn’t in the comments below.

  • Thanks for this tip. I'm in Asia, rest of family in Europe on vaca, and I don't have access to my mail arriving in the USA for a month. I'm going to assume I was targeted as the account IS lying dormant, so I'll just go ahead and pay a few bills and buy a few gift cards, and hopefully it'll trigger. And if not, no big deal. :)

  • Unfortunately I screwed up the $200 offer a few months ago somehow.... DD Didn't go through when I thought it did and I was $100 short and 3 days late... No luck talking to a rep online. But I DID Get this $50 Targeted paper mail offer so its not a total loss. Just going to do 10 Bill Pays to my CC...well see how it goes.

  • Just a quick note. KeyBank is no longer offering $200 checking bonus. Instead, they are offering $100 for opening a hassle-free checking account or $300 for opening a advantage checking account ($18 monthly fee, which is hard to avoid) or above. I personally like the old $200 bonus since it's lucrative and easy to keep the account without paying the monthly fee.
