The Fine Print

  • $500 spend can be done on the new AU card or any other AU card, but not on the primary card
  • Bonus points can take 8-12 weeks to post (usually it posts much faster)
  • Limit one 5,000 bonus per primary card (adding two AUs won’t get you two bonuses)

As always there are three things to keep in mind when considering these deals:

  • No fee to add an additional cardholder
  • These authorized user accounts do count towards the Chase 5/24 rule
  • SSN is required (not required if you add AU by chat, at least instantly).

  • I have a new data point. I enroll in the PRG spend 500 and got 5k last November, the 5k posted 12/09/16 as PRG 5K MR Pts/$500 spend. When this same offer show up again in Feb 207. Someone mention the it didn't work. But when I call to enroll in the 10k pay over time. The rep mention I can get 5k for adding AU. I decide to say yes and give it a shot. Bought 500 gift card and 5k posted today as PRG 5k MR/Spnd $500/92 day. So you can in fact get it twice.

  • Does anyone know if the $500 spent by the AU also counts towards the minimum spend requirement on the PRG card?

  • Hey Will, I am working on meeting the min spend on PRG gold and just wondering if I add AU using this offer, will the AU's purchases ($500) to get their bonus will also count toward my own Minimum spend requirement?   • My husband is already the AU of my PRG since long time ago. Can I request another AU card for him to take advantage of this offer?

    • If you add it with his name but add the middle name or initial etc it should still work

      • Thanks for the suggestion. But the system does require the SSN, which would be the same number. Not sure how would it go?

        • That is what people have done in the past and how I did it yesterday. Just use his normal soc sec #....should work fine

    On my Delta Platinum:
    Add an Additional Card and you can earn 2,500 extra miles after your Additional Card Members spend $500 in purchases in the following 3 months on their Cards.

    On my Gold card:

  • I am going to have to call American Express in the morning as well. The same thing happened to me. I spent $500 on the other authorized user cards and I never got my bonus.
