Offer has expired and is no longer valid. There is a new link here though.
This offer was found by JonLuca on /r/churning. As far as I know there is no other way to even sign up for this card let alone get a 40,000 mile bonus for this card. I’d apply a high level of caution to applying through this link. It’s possible Barclaycard won’t accept applications from this link and it’s also possible that they will offer a better sign up bonus in the future.
The Offer
- Receive a bonus of 40,000 American Airlines after your first purchase within 90 days of account opening on the Barclaycard Aviator Business Mastercard

- 5% annual mile bonus. You’ll receive an additional 5% bonus on all miles earned in the previous card member year (e.g earn 100,000 miles receive a 5,000 mile bonus) – you must pay the annual fee before you receive this bonus.

Our Verdict
It’s possible to get a 60,500 mile bonus on the personal version of this card, so that offer is significantly better. Seems like Barclaycard business cards sometimes report and sometimes don’t report to your personal report, so that isn’t encouraging for people trying to keep their card count low for the Chase 5/24 rule. Personally I’m going to wait this one out, if the bonus was higher I might risk it but at the 40,000 mile level it’s not worth it in my opinion. Not everybody shares my level of risk aversion though, so that’s a choice for you to make.
As always read these things everybody should know about Barclaycard credit cards.

Thanks, we discussed it here as well: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/barclaycard-aviator-business-now-officially-available-sign-40000-points/. I'll update this post to make it clearer.
I applied and was approved the day this came out. Card came in and I activated it and set it up online.
However, the card doesn't work for purchases. Anyone else who successfully got the physical card having issues making purchases?
Hi Guys,
I applied for this card on Oct 26 and received a confirmation email the same day, also i was pulled TU for it but i haven't received anything from them, not even a denied letter, anyone knows a number that i can use to call and see what is happening?
Thanks in advance.

That's what it looks like unfortunately...
Well that's a shame. I got a conditional approval if I move credit from another of my barcalay cards. I guess I applied just in time
Yep, looks like it is expired as of this morning
Applied with my LLC's EIN...went to pending :(
Fingers crossed they approve me
What do you guys think...should I try to recon it?
I recon'd it today and got conditionally approved after I move credit around
Doc, regarding the companion certificate that comes with this card (and I assume the same applies for the aviator silver and the Citi AAdvantage business card)... after you purchase the economy tickets using the companion certificate, do you know whether or not you can pay a fee or use miles to upgrade to business or first class? You CAN do this on Alaska, but apparently you can't with Delta companion certs... still unsure about American, haven't seen any datapoints yet...
I'm not sure sorry, hopefully another reader can help out?
Wife and I both applied. Our applications are both under review, the page states that we will be reached out to for additional information.
same :(
We apologize for the inconvenience. Our website is experiencing issues.
When do you get that error?
After clicking on the submit button.
Odd, working for others
So who's applying first? Since it's Barclays, at least they generally pull Transunion!
Can confirm TU pull
Not only would it be awesome if this link works, but even better we may FINALLY have enough data points to know whether the Business cards from Barclay show up on personal credit reports or not.
DP:
Even though I used my LLC's EIN, Barclays still hit my personal TU with a HP, and didn't even have the common courtesy to give me an approval
