In late October an application link for the Barclaycard Aviator American Airlines business card was found. I cautioned people on using the link because it wasn’t clear if Barclaycard wanted this product to be available for sign up, shortly after the link was pulled. The good news is that there is now a proper landing page for the offer and it’s available for sign ups. The sign up bonus is the same as the other link: 40,000 points after your first purchase. This is an easy offer for those that struggle to meet minimum spend requirements. Barclaycard business cards sometimes report and sometimes don’t report to your personal credit report, so this is not that useful for people trying to minimize the number of cards reporting for Chase 5/24 purchases.
I think it’s highly possible that we will see a higher bonus on this card in the future, possibly up to 60,000 miles as we’ve seen on the personal version of the card. Barclaycard is also currently offering a JetBlue bonus for 60,000 points, I think that’s a better deal and Barclaycard can be difficult with multiple applications in a short space of time. I’m personally just going to wait this bonus out for now, but it’s great that it’s officially available for sign ups now.I won’t be adding it to the best credit card bonuses.

DATA POINT:
Bonus of 40k miles posted after first purchase, I havent paid the annual fee yet but miles are already in Aadvantage account. I guess if you really wanted to burn a bridge with barclays you could use miles before paying the annual fee even though annual fee is assessed on first statement.
DATA POINT: After unsuccessfully getting approved for aviator red personal 5 months ago and arrival+ a few days ago, I applied for business aviator for the hell of it since it wouldnt be another HP same day as arrival+, it went to pending like arrival+, but I got a call today from a rep asking questions about my business. I put sole propreitorship, he just asked income, and my expensies, I said 45k income and 5K expenses. no documentation needed, he looked at credit report mentioning ive payed off my cards on time, not mentioning 7 inquires, 10 accts past 24 months. approved 7k limit.
I applied for the Aviator Business card on 11/22/2017 and it has NOT shown up as a new account on my personal credit.
actually, the datapoint on Frequentmiler of the guy saying the Barclaycard business card showed up on his personal report and will stay there for another 1.5 years — clearly this is the hardpull showing up (as it should, for 2 years total — of which he has 1.5 years left) rather than the account listed under the accounts you have — as those would stay much longer.
I don’t see a reliable datapoint anywhere that Barclaycard reports new business accounts to your personal credit report. But obviously Barclaycard will pull your transunion report so you get a hard pull.
Painless Barclay business approvals are most likely next to impossible. Recall way more data points of tough grilling and outright rejection than approvals when they offered the US Airways business card. YMMV.
My last two rejections from Barclay for the Arrival+ was followed by applications for co-branded cards 1-2 months later that were approved. I last got denied for the Arrival+ in September, and went ahead and applied for this Aviator today and got instantly denied. Apparently, they’ll mail me the reason why, but I’m assuming it will be for too many new accounts.
Interestingly, I got approved for the Aviator Red Personal card today.
Is the Barclay business approvals process as stringent as the personal approvals process?
I believe so, yes.
Trying to get below 5/24 so really curious to know if this card will show up on the personal credit report.
why not apply after chase?
Does anyone know: Are Barclay business cards difficult to be approved for? Or rather, are they more difficult than, say, Chase or Amex?
Bit of a subjective question I think. I assume you don’t have a real business? Probably the same or easier maybe
I just got turned down for AAviator Red due to too many inquiries. 800+ credit, good recurring spend on Arrival+ . Do I even have a chance with this one?
How many hard pulls do you have?
Put some spend on existing Barclaycard cards first
