Our Verdict

It’s a bit strange as there is no promo code listed and generally GCM requires a promo code. It’s also listed as 5% off on the left side and then an extra 5% on your load in the main body of the promo. You don’t get an instant 5% discount when ordering, so I assume if it’s working correctly then you should get an extra 5% loaded to your card.

A few important things to note:

  • We can’t be sure this promotion is currently working correctly, my suspicion is that cards will have an extra 5% loaded to them but who knows.
  • These cards earn 5% back on select retailers
  • Topcashback & SimplyBestCoupons (my referral link) are both offering 1.25% cash back on Visa gift cards purchases
  • GiftCardMall has a history of canceling orders for no real reason

Simon Mall are also waiving the fees on 5 back Visa gift cards.

  • oh i know why GCM doesn't ship the items sometimes. Because they voice verify your order. If you do not pick up the phone that "1" time they call they will cancel the order. It happened to me. I was in the restroom when they called and when I called back they said too bad

  • Tried the link at December 5th 5PM PST and it looks like they're out of stock on these guys. What a bummer. Hope they get some back soon.

  • GCM blocked my purchase with both my Cap One Spark card and Chase Freedom, both from my account and as a guest user, for 1-5 cards (I tried different ammounts). However, it let me order 1 and then again 5 more just fine from my account with my Amex SPG card that I already had on file with them and had used a few other times previously.

    Maybe they are trying to limit this lucrative offer to repeat users using cards they know to have been valid in the past...?

  • Is this normal? I just had GCM call me to make sure I was the person placing the order. This is my first time ordering with them, and I did just sign up for an account for this promo. But, on the other hand, it looks like they were satisfied and will ship it.

  • Haven't had any luck, tried different amounts and different payment cards. Every order ends up saying that the order can't be completed.

    • This as well.

      Tried different cards, all show up as pending on the credit card issuers' website, but GCM tells me to try a different card.

      • I just opened an Incognito window in Google Chrome, then DID NOT sign in to my GiftCardMall account, but instead ordered as a guest using the same credit card that had failed when I tried while logged in. It went through. That does not mean they will actually ship, but I at least got further. I have had success recently using this method when GiftCardMall.com website was locking up on me when I tried to log in. I don't believe the Incognito part is important. I believe ordering as guest is the important part.

        • Thanks, incognito worked for me too! Ordered two $500 cards, I think I'll try another order once I get confirmation that the order processed/shipped!

        • Terry, thanks for the tip. I couldn't get a single purchase to go through when signed-in, but got one to work with guest mode (used a different e-mail address). Fingers crossed it ships

        • I believe the Incognito mode worked for me :)
          I've tried with Guest checkout, it didn't go through before.
