    • Create a RoarMoney account (both referrer and referee should have RoarMoney accounts) and get a $5 bonus
    • Referee switches their direct deposit to their RoarMoney account either via the MoneyLion app or through the form. Direct deposit must be $100+ and received within 60 days of account opening

Our Verdict

Not as good as the bonus of up to $599 that was once offered, but I doubt we will see that again. I recommend only doing bank bonuses of $100+ so I’d give this one a miss and wait for something better to come along.     (1) $100 ACH transfer from Current ---> MoneyLion w/ "Payroll" in the memo

    (2) $100 ACH transfers from BlueVine Business checking account ---> MoneyLion but memo doesn't show up in transaction

    These triggered the $55 bonus for me and signing up also triggered $5 right away.

    Just as an added note, this is the 2nd churning attempt I've tried using BlueVine and notes you add to the "memo" line didn't show up in the other bank account either (Current). So I'm not sure if it matters. (BlueVine does not trigger Current BTW).

  • Be sure to set up a Roar Money Checking account and make a Direct Deposit of $100 or more to trigger referral bonus if you open an account that way.

    • It looks like it's now 2 DD's required. Any DP's other than Wise?
      How does the referral track when all it's having us do is scan a QR code and downloading an app?

  • Looks like on top of the referral bonus you might also be offered a $100 bonus on doing 4 Direct Deposits. First one can be of any size to trigger the start. Than next 3 must be over $500. Within 30 days, 31 to 60 days and last 61 to 90 days. Like always...YMMV

      • So I was never able to get the $100 bonus offer to trigger. They wanted me to use their system to log into my companies payroll...not going to happen. As for the current bonus it shows $60. My steps were: Opened a MoneyLion account. Shortly after got $5 bonus. Opened a RoarMoney account and manually set up payroll. After a a single payroll over 100 I received a $55 bonus.         • Ok thanks. It sucks because my employer isn’t even on there and doesn’t use a centralized payroll system so I couldn’t use their system even if I wanted. Thanks for the referral bonus dd tip though !

  • There is a monthly "Administrative Fee" of $1.00 now. The referral bonus is up to $60. Bonus ends 2/1/23. Requires direct deposit of $100 or more within 60 days of account creation. Bonus posts within 2 weeks.

    • I think they got rid of it. I've had my account since early March 2025 and so far, no fees.
