Started early 2024 and here’s what I have to report:

Pulled Chex:
Truist
Bank of Texas (Bank of Oklahoma on the report)
PSECU
Wings Credit Union
BMO Harris
First Horizon
Citi

Didn’t pull Chex:
PNC
Chime
Capital One
SoFi
Sunward*
USAA
Chase
Regions
Bank of America

*I just opened Sunward 4 days before running the report — I was pretty sure that would pull Chex, but maybe not? Or maybe it hasn’t shown yet. I’ll comment if it changes.

Kelc,

I just checked and saw that you made 2 comments in the Sunward post here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/nm-ca-az-tx-co-sunward-225-checking-bonus/.

Did you read through the comments in that post before you applied? The reason that I ask is because there has been a lot of discussion about Sunward no longer pulling Chex. In fact, I’ve only seen 1 DP of Sunward pulling Chex recently and that person applied in-branch.

Therefore, you are very likely waiting for a ghost. 😉

Not before I applied, because I wasn’t really concerned about Chex. Not until it gave me three additional document requests (totaling 7 documents I believe) and I wondered if that was to blame. It’s really neither here nor there, just reporting my experience.

You wrote “I was pretty sure that would pull Chex, but maybe not? Or maybe it hasn’t shown yet. I’ll comment if it changes.” I was trying to save you from wasting time looking at your Chex again.

Yep! Did more digging after posting. Can’t update a comment and didn’t see a need to reply to my own comment that I wouldn’t be checking. Thanks for looking out though.

I can confirm that Bankers Trust does:
1) Soft Pull and
2) it is ChexSystems sensitive.
I went to the bank today and was denied to open an account due to Chex. Bankers was nice, he told me how to dispute info with Chexsystems and remove the incorrect information on my account.

Realistically, just LexisNexis/Sagestream, and of course EX/EQ/TU & Innovis.

Deep dive:

https://nctue.com/

Those were all the interesting ones. The below site lists MANY more, but you may find most are blank.

You are on the wrong post. Citizens, TD Bank, and U.S. Bank primarily use Early Warning Services for account approval. That’s where you should start looking for answers and pull your report. Takes weeks to get it.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/everything-youve-wanted-know-early-warning-services-ews/

Also, you made no mention of your regular credit reports. Some of those may need to soft pull credit before approving, and GTE is a hard pull, none of which cannot be accessed if frozen. U.S. Bank soft pulls Innovis. If none of which are frozen, I would do a fine-toothed comb review of them all.

Lastly, LexisNexis is use by almost all banks/CU’s for online openings. Make sure it, and Sagestream (part of LN now), is not frozen. Pull a copy of it too. @guest_2057237
